It's because this forum was a spawn from reddit rather than calguns. Reddit r/caguns has more Democrat/Liberals than Republican/Conservatives.

You realize my account is older on Calguns right? I posted more on Calguns, than on CAguns, but after 2020 it became quite difficult to talk to people. r/CAguns actually responded when I asked what they wanted to see when it came to fixing things. On Calguns, they deleted my post within 24 hours. Any time I brought up anything about fixing the site, it was like they were tone deaf.

I care less about politics and more about information sharing and discussion, which I think people can see. There's a lot more back n forth on Reddit vs the one way discussions that became Calguns. If you go there now, it's pretty obvious if you don't think the way they do, you don't belong there. Or would you say its welcoming?

That's one of the main reasons this place came up, Calguns was really closed off to people and confrontational. There's no room for the new generation of shooters who are interested in more performance and just getting into shooting. They see it more as a political tool than a self defense tool.

I tell people to post their guns here since the other site is dead half the time, so I'm bringing people here daily. That being said, it is just interesting how I see often people taking jabs at trump and that is just confusing. I totally get not liking the guy, he makes alot of moronic mistakes but the alternative... the alternative?? I just dont even see how its possible being a gun owner. Literally in 2 years we wont be able to buy /sell / PPT any gun without microstamping in CA, (so overnight) guns will be a thing of the past. I just do not see how it is possible we have anyone who wants that vs just thinking Trump is stupid. It is very vocal in here about anti trump and it just rubs me the wrong way because gun rights are literally only one sided politically (even though both political parties haven't truly been for the people for decades now and screw us over) but still..
Calguns is basically dead minus the for sale section, so this site has so much potential!

Anyone thinking the land being up for sale is not going to result in further restrictions by corporate interests/resource harvesting is kidding themselves.

This! It is just an ever decreasing area of public space that will be pay to play for hunting, fishing, recreation, etc. I've spent many a weekend and week disappearing into public land with a shotgun or rifle, and finding peace that can't be found anywhere else.

It does not mean we can't post the shortcomings and wrongdoings of the current administration. Both Trump and Kamala were courted by billionaires that want a return on investment. That return does not include any of us peons, liberal, moderate, or conservative.

I think many gun forum users deeply under appreciate the volume of left leaning people who have gotten into competitive shooting in the last 5 years.

There are dozens of instagram accounts now that have huge followings whose entire schtick is "want to learn to shoot like John Wick but you don't want Donald Trump inspecting your daughters locker room? We've got you! "

I came here from CalGuns which is probably the worst shooting forum experience I've ever had in my life, but due to Californias trash gun laws we have a marketplace all of us require access to uniquely in state.

I've been shooting competitively for about 15 years and I can remember a time when the majority of shooters were something like centrists and there was 1-2 guys that wanted to talk about Ruby Ridge all the time.

Now the centrists are the 1-2 guys, 7 guys are talking about how bad they want cops to permanently be inside their home checking for immigrants, and then there's a few furries wearing cat ears with NVGs and shooting splits at master level.

If it makes you feel any better I was just as anti Kamala as I was anti Trump I think they're both liberals
