My 4 year old M18 has never missed a beat or demonstrated any problems. It shoots when I pull the trigger, about 6000 rounds so far. I don't have junk inside the holster and "look" before & as I holster the gun. No Rocket Science required- basic, safe orientation.

I was happy to read this. I love my m18 and have close to 5000 rounds through it without a single issue.

It's important that when discussing suspected issues with the P320 that one is clear whether the models with the manual safety are being discussed. The military requires them all to have manual safeties. Without the safety, and considering the P320 has such a light trigger, it would be too easy for me to make a mistake with a round chambered. I believe one of the lawsuits that ruled against SIG considered them negligent in delivering a gun that is risky by design. That's me paraphrasing. Here's something that's written up about it:

The consumer purchased a gun without a tabbed trigger. The jury seemed to conclude that allowing this was negligent behavior by the manufacturer. It seems unlikely that Sig would have lost the case if the gun had had a manual safety.

So, my read on this result from the military is that they've concluded there is nothing wrong with P320's generally and that the P320, with the addition of a manual safety, is perfectly acceptable and safe as a service weapon.
