Smith & Wesson M&P Shield X parts

Hello,

I need help, I just got my M&P Shield X. I was looking if they sell base pads for it and i cannot find any, does anyone know if any company makes them? also what are best upgrades to do for the shield x. Thank you.

The only thing mine has gotten so far is extra mags and a little bit of diamond stoning on the slide release. Now it actually works as a release. About 450 rounds with no malfunction of any kind. I might change the sights, I like a 3 dot sight over the factory setup. Otherwise no complaints at all, the trigger is good, reliability is great, it’s plenty accurate to hit center mass at 10-20 yards.. Mags are more expensive and harder to find than Glock mags is probably my only minor gripe..

Smith & Wesson just dropped shield x magazine conversion kits. The issue is getting them shipped to CA. Rifle gear has been great at stocking M&P parts. They have it added to their site, sure it’ll be on there soon. Try midway as well.

There isnt a ton of aftermarket support for the shield x yet.
I stock some mags and thats about it right now

Shield Plus carry comp slide on Shield X frame.

I also removed the safety on my Shield X and 3D Printed some frame plugs.

I received my baseplates directly from S&W who sent to my FFL. They sent it no charge along with the metal baseplate retainer. Used a factory Shield plus sear housing spring to update the mag disconnect parts. Still need a fix for the LCI.

I can’t think of much the Shield X needs. Its optic ready, good trigger, mines been reliable so far and as a likely carry gun I’m not wanting to change anything substantially.

Just got a set of sights, but my sight tool didn’t work on the first pass so I’m doing a long soak with kroil to see if it helps like it did with the BG 2.0..

I think the only wat to get rid of the CA lci is to replace the slide.
