I love mine and just got it, definitely outshoots me. grip fits me better than the other 2011's out there.
not to crap on prodigy but didn't early models have issues and how would you know if yours was one of the ones that had issues?

the used market on 2011's seems to be pretty high, you are saving very little it seems almost not worth it buying used, bought my platypus new for the same reason.

Stealth would have warrantied it but I live here in good ole CA so I'm screwed. And it was not from shooting it. Mine is the barrel bushing model and has the two piece guide rod which you can take apart. If you twist the rod to hard and to often the head of the rod hits the side of the frame where the dust cover meets the frame rails and because it's aluminum and very thin you can crack it. It even says that in the manual so lesson learned READ THE MANUAL lol. Oh it is still shootable the crack is just under 1/8 of an inch I just need to keep an eye on it. I might try a little JB weld on the inside of the frame.

Check with Stealth Arms on how the comp is attached to make sure it won't fall into the same situation as the Canik TTI Combat and possibly the P211 GTO.

I'm not sure if they all have the same guide rod but I'd say order what you want and just make sure you break it down per the manuel. I bought mine used so I don't know when it was built so hopefully Stealth has beefed up the frame at that point. If you are talking to them when you order it ask them about it.

bull barrel one also has a 2 piece guide rod, pretty easy to change it to a one piece.

Speaking of Prodigies this is, legally speaking, a Prodigy. Look carefully at the dust cover, you can see the DS, the frame is the only original part left after Julian and Christian at Limcat got hold of it.

It was a bone stock 1st gen model with an SRO mounted on it. It ran perfectly fine but I had a lot of trouble with the optic mount, it would vibrate loose while shooting a match and the zero would drift massively by the last stage. My brother-in-law sent in a Limcat for a new barrel and tune-up and I sent the Prodigy along in order to get the mount sorted out. By the time my turn came up in the queue, I told Julian to toss everything but the frame and build this abomination on it. I absolutely love this thing.

While I was waiting for this to be finished, I scored a full-custom STI 2011 for less than I paid for the Prodigy, so I shot that one until this arrived, so I now have 2 custom LO guns.

I have seen some people say a c2 shoots better than a P, my guess is guns feel different for everyone and my hands are more on the medium size so I feel a c2 would be a better fit for me. but with that being said how well does your tuned prodigy feel to your P?

The 3.5 Prodigy with short barrel and aluminum frame is a completely different gun than the Staccato P with steel frame. The Staccato is nearly a pound heavier, nearly an inch longer, thus more stable, smoother in cycling , flatter in recoil.

If you start with a Prodigy, you'll upgrade it to shoot like a P and will end up buying a P anyway and have the Prodigy as backup.

If you start with a P, you'll upgade it to shoot like an Atlas Athena and will end up buying an Athena anyway and have the P as back up.

And if you have an Atlas you’ll try to upgrade it to shoot like a venom, rafferty, infinity, or EMG and just end up trying to buy them anyways.

Fortunately, i have not tried any of the above pistols to know what it's like to shoot them and not inclined to try so I won't have the desire to upgrade the Atlas.

The Platypus is an excellent double stack 1911 and shoots preety well but it IMO cannot be set up as well as a true 2011 based pistol.
The upgrade path is limited.
You will have to live with the stock grip, trigger, slide stop, mag release and possibly the thumb safety too per Stealth Arms.

I have modified Wilson Combat 1911 slide stops to work in a Platypus.

If you like Custom gun get the Prodigy. if you want a gun to keep stock and with good resale, then Staccato.
