Sig sauer introduced several centerfire pistols to the roster last year. It's been a few months since they added a centerfire gun. There were rumors of a few in process to get added. There were rumors of california rejecting some.

What happened? This probably pertains to other brands as well.

They probably have bigger problems right now. And their marketing and legal departments are working really hard to get bullets that come flying out of the 320 back.

I would not at all be surprised if the DoJ BoF makes life as difficult as possible for gun manufacturers. Note that I said "as possible", meaning usually within the law.

Chuck Michel posted on X a while back that there were issues with the CLI's.
I would also not at all be surprised if the usual scammers gun rights organizations such as FPC, SAF and CRPA posted nonsense and hype in press releases (or Facebook and Twitter). After all, they survive on fund raising, and there is nothing better for fund-raising than getting the anger of the gun community worked up. Given that we have seen no followup and now lawsuits, I assume that operation ended up being a wombat: Waste Of Money, Brains And Time.

The reality is probably somewhere in the middle, in the grey zone.

I got tired of waiting for the Beretta APX A1 and got one on here for a nice price. I guess some have figured it out, as Walther just got a couple of PDPs added.

Ok that's what I was looking for. I had heard some info, but hadn't read it for myself.

For some reason I thought i heard that the DOJ was denying guns because the markings weren't engraved deep enough. I checked my sig and it doesn't appear to be engraved at all.

Sounds like I heard incorrectly. Good.

So hopefully we will see some new sigs this week. Fingers crossed for an XL with a 3.7" barrel.

I think this is one of the areas where Pam Bondi's task force can help by regulating the process that a handgun gets on the roster. There needs to be consistency. If one gun made the roster with XYZ spec for the LCI then all gun should quality based on the same spec. Right now it seems arbitrary. I refuse to believe that modern engineers/engineering would just blatantly miss the spec if there is one clearly set. Demanding a timeline would be helpful as well.

This is a state issue, with state law enforced by a state agency. Pam Bondi has nothing to do with it.

Sure, her task force could try to scare the California DoJ. The (predictable) effect would be that our state government would take an even harder turn against guns, just like Newsom is building himself as an anti-Trump. And given California's known electoral politics (about 2/3 of all voters are anti-gun, look at the result of prop 63 a few years ago), it would be politically expedient to push back very hard.

In theory, Pam Bondi's task force could even sue the state (I don't even know whether they'd have to find an individual plaintiff, like the gun rights groups need to find people like Duncan). Given the speed at which the judiciary works, the suit would not get done by the time the next president takes office and Pam Bondi stops being AG.

CLI's, magazine disconnects, and manual thumb or trigger safeties are all features that have been in production on various gun designs for at least 100 years. These are not new concepts. The very first 9mm pistol, the Luger P08 has a CLI and manual thumb safety. The Browning High Power has a magazine disconnect and manual thumb safety. Glocks have trigger safeties. So it definitely is doable, that doesn't even seem to be the issue. The issue seems to be whether gun makers even think about doing it.
