Three new modern Sigs added to the roster

I don't think Sonoma cares. Contra Costa is very draconian. No 1911s, no red dots, no WMLs, no mods or conversions.

Prohibited firearms include any single action only firearms. This includes any semi-automatic handgun made by any manufacturer built on the Colt 1911 configuration.

In contrast, semi-automatics which fire the first-round double action but successive rounds in single action are acceptable.

Firearms with the striker fire mechanism, e.g., Glocks, and decocking levers, e.g. some Sig Sauer models, are also acceptable.

Prohibited firearms include derringers and any derringer variant.

Firearms with attached laser sights, flashlights, red dots, and sighting systems are not acceptable.
Glow in the dark or luminescent sights are acceptable.

The firearm must have been commercially manufactured and of sufficient quality to safely fire. The applicant must be the recorded owner of the firearm in CA Department of Justice records.

Firearms which have been modified, including modifications to triggers, slides, safety mechanisms, conversions, and magazine releases are not approved.

Any modifications to firearms after issuance of a permit may result in revocation.

Acceptable firearms include:

  • Revolvers or semi-automatics with a caliber of not less than .32 or greater than .45
  • No barrel lengths less than 1.875” and no longer than 6”
  • Minimum of 5 rounds
  • Fixed or adjustable sights. Luminescent sights are acceptable. Add on optics are not permitted.

Yes, that is restrictive, especially the 1911. I can understand the exclusion of Series 70 1911s due to safety concerns if dropped, but Series 80 1911s have way more safeties than many other semi autos.

The anti lights, lasers, and red dots are also odd since all of those help aid in target ID and acquisition.

Maybe they’re trying to discourage 1911 race guns and Gucci Glocks being carried.

That X-Macro Comp is gonna sell like crazy in CA
Not sure why.. a own a lot of SIG but we can't take advantage of the extra cap and most ppl will think to CCW this - a compensated pistol is the last pistol I want on my hip for a night fight, scenarios needing to shoot from driver seat or from retention. Plenty of other good options out there. Save the comps for comps

Glad to see the Sig p320s on roster now. I'm just getting into the p320 platform. Currently building one from an FCU, only missing part is waiting for my slide!

Our I A says no mods that deviate from manufacturer specs. So… if CZ made an SRT , that would be ok, but a Cajun Gun Works SRT is a no go.

I bought an off roster P365 in 2018 and converted last year to an XL. I A is fine with it. I’m not sure if they would be ok with removing features. I don’t have any pistols with a magazine disconnect.

I’ve got the 17 rd macro mags with adaptor baseplates for the XL. Works great for USPSA, but not stealth for carry.
12 rounds is perfect.

I’m not sure if I would buy a macro to throw away the frame and slide and buy a non safety one. That’s approaching off roster pricing.
