Trigger Pull measurements

Due to the counter lever effect of the trigger I am getting an average 1lb of trigger pull measurement difference as measured.

As the physics of this delta are quite obvious… What is the correct method of measurement? What measurement would LEO use to stipulate if the trigger spring has been modified from OEM….????

As of note this is a un modified Legion X5

The trigger is a lever, the further down that lever, the less force required, as your pics illustrate. I'd say your finger is most likely to be around the right hand pic position, so try for that. That's what I usually shoot for when testing trigger pull, but as you're finding, YMMV, as the "hook" tends to slip around and it's hard to get the same pull as if it were your finger in relation to both the position on the trigger AND the angle your finger would pull at. The variation you're seeing is pretty typical to my experience across multiple firearms and triggers...

What measurement would LEO use to stipulate if the trigger spring has been modified from OEM….????

Why would an LEO care if you changed the trigger spring on your gun? Springs wear out and need to be replaced as part of basic maintenance. Don’t buy into the internet FUD about gun modifications that seems to be gaining traction around here lately.

Curved triggers solve this problem as the force gauge finds the center of the curve just like your finger does.
