Has anyone else been upping the number of blocked profiles . It seems there are more than a few people here that have ZERO manners or common courtesy. A recent example was a poster who didn't post prices for items listed then freaked out when I asked and wasn't interested after finding out the price . So here is a public service announcement. If you get out of pocket you will be blocked .
Not sure if it's allowed or not but maybe anonymity is what begets the rudeness. Perhaps a forum of shame is necessary to dissuade that kind of disrespect .

For all the good the internet offers, it also emboldens some people to be rude, troll, act poorly, etc.
Society itself is unfortunately less civil than it was just 6-7 years ago. People are driving more crazy, seems like more people have short fuses, more crime, etc.
And yeah, anyone who's inclined toward rude, anti-social behavior, is likely to have it amplified by the anonymity of being online.
 
So dramatic, that tells me we’re growing! That said, let’s be adults about it. Block/Ignore and move on.

I’ll eventually get a block feature in but until then let’s be civil and move on.

Don’t get mistaken, we have plenty of tools to restrict access but we generally give people a chance first. Please don’t blow things out of proportion and if a report is sent be descriptive.

I receive complaints almost everyday. I’m not trying to be over the top. I’d appreciate the same. I spend way more time on this platform than I ever thought, maybe some new blood will be good.
 
To be clear I'm not even upset at this point just a query about the direction society as a whole seems to be trending . Wasn't looking for any drama to be started or anything done really . I just ignore and move on there are plenty of civil minded individuals here to have a good time with. Was kinda just wondering if I was the only person experiencing it or what ya know ?

It's going to happen ultimately. Any community has its drama. The best we can do is be level headed and squash things as they come. I try to provide tools to maintain the peace so people can do their thing.

I've added more automated tools and I had some people not like it very much. I think some good guys stepped away. We're all human and these days its easy to get P.O.'ed.

To date, I've only banned one person for being a 🍆. The rest is mostly systematic or trying to do shady stuff which any mod can request a perma ban. The systematic part of it keeps this place mostly secure. Given the amount of people, we have a relatively low number of scammers compared to when we first started. Sometimes we get a false positive but its mostly right.

I'm noticing a lot of disgruntled guys everywhere since i'm expanding the site. Too many scammers & bots & schemes. I'm reluctant to say that we've had good results being proactive in making sure that doesn't get in or is dealt with immediately. Fortunately, I can pass things off to @doser who can review a few things.

P.S. I think we're getting into a rhythm here. I hope some of those guys who left come back and understand some of the things we do here is for the overall community. I hear every criticism but have to make some judgements calls.

I'm not active in the sales forums, so I don't know shiate about it- but seems to me that the FAQ (or whatever How To is called) there might be a comment that "Having prices sells, not having does not" kinda thing. Then everyone should not even click on listings without prices. No anger, no loss of a sale or a buy- just a teaching opportunity. They'll get the hint and comply or move on.
 
I will read and educate myself from knowledgeable people here on this site from Now On, (5-6-25) and keep in touch with some friends from other forums here, but I will not list any items for sale anymore it's just too much to deal with.

People just flat out suck when it comes to buying/selling Ive learned enough in a short time that this site is heading that direction But... it is not the Owner or Mods here that are allowing this to happen it was just inevitable it was just bound to happen it's sad but it is reality and you really can't do anything about it so I guess this is MY solution to a problem I truly hate. ;)
 
Gee, I never blocked anyone, either on this site or the old one, and I bought and sold plenty over there. I don’t understand all the sensitivity. Sure, there are unreasonable, insensitive and unintelligent people out there. I actually don’t think many of the people on here are, though. You don’t have to deal with them if you don’t want, although on occasion I have concluded very satisfactory deals with people I thought were jerks. Block them if you like, but don’t let it raise your blood pressure. This is supposed to be fun!
 
Dude reported me for being a scammer yesterday for not responding to his direct message fast enough?!
 
I can’t even follow what the issue is here. Fact is some people will be clear about selling and buying some won’t. Some will be responsive some won’t. Some may be “rude”, some won’t. Some will follow rules some won’t. I have had quite a few transaction interactions here and they’ve all been reasonable. If you can’t handle that people will be people, should probably not be on the internet.
 
I haven't had any issues buying or selling/trading here or at the other place.

I have had scammers hit me up in other forums though, pretty easy to spot if they joined yesterday and have one post to you wanting to take the transaction offline etc, or if they're showing you pics of the item they're selling that are from the manufacturer's website etc, but otherwise no issues so lucky I guess?
