using GoPro to record close to pistol

does anybody have any precautions or recommendations for using a GoPro at the range to record the action of my pistol? is there any issue with damaging the microphone? obviously I want to use a very high frame rate and very high resolution.

ideas? comments? recommendations?
 
Are you looki by to buy one or do you have one already? If you don’t have a GoPro, I’d suggest using the Insta360 go3 for shooting sports. Small lightweight and very versatile.

If you have a go pro already, it’s fine to use without any problems. Just make sure you know how you like to have it setup when you hit record so the angle is good. It takes some practice to get the right feel.
 
yeah, I'm invested in a stupid amount of GoPro 💩 already so there's no switching brands.

I'm glad you mentioned setup. I will mimic it at home first. I already feel like when I go to the range I've got a ridiculous amount of stuff with me. so GoPro stuff and tripods I'm going to feel even more conspicuous 🙂
