Just picked up this beautiful Zastava Zpap m70 in light maple furniture from Rifle Supply in Huntington Beach, CA. I was surprised they still had one left and didn’t hesitate to purchase it, now I’m in jail for ten days. I have started to watch YouTube videos of different reviews about the rifle. What are your thoughts about it? Do you own one? Would you like to own one? If so, why?

Congratulations. They like all AK/SKS platforms are extremely reliable and easy to operate. Fun to shoot . I lost interest in mine and sold them over the years because I found the AR platform more accurate and thus more fun to shoot . Enjoy your gun.

Great AK. One of the better california options. Only drawback is there are not a lot of aftermarket yugo parts. Also think about going featureless instead of the comp mag, or youll be cursing later. Other than that, the thing absolutely eats.

Clerk at the range caught me walking by and was just continuously racking one they had on consignment. The sound sold me immediately. I put the RS regulate side mount with PA 3x prism and the Thordsen stock on it. Looks kinda goofy but it's pretty fun.

The Yugo AKs are excellent. I don’t have a PAP but have built several surplus kits M70b1, M70ab2, M72. All great shooters due to their slightly heavier weight. Get a grip fin for it and use regular mags. Btw, Yugo surplus mags have a bolt hold open follower if you like that feature.

The Zpaps are one of the better Aks on the market. They are very well built and can take abuse. Cons, yugo guns are their own pattern and will need some special parts and furniture as they are not compatible with an akm or 100 series. The next question would be if your ak has the bayonet lug.
