We have the following calibers available. I keep getting requests for different calibers, but none of them are the same. Lol. So this is your chance to add to the list. I don't want to make it too long so keep it short. we're looking to add 3-5 tops. Use the up ^ to vote for the caliber you want to add. The one with the most votes will get added.

You can use the keyword search for other calibers, it doesn't really need to be in the list if its not really popular. Let's see which calibers are really popular?

The benefit of a longer list is standardization and more accurate search results.
It works better for buyers and sellers.

Say you're looking for 375 H&H.
If it's in the drop down you don't have to worry about having sellers enter it in various ways (assuming caliber is a mandatory selection to post a WTS/Trade/Free/Offer post.
Some of it depends on how robust the search code has been written.

The Key would match anything with 375 H*. The problem is it gets lost and a lot of people don't really enter it in. That said, I say this as devils advocate and I like to be efficient. It's much easier and faster to type then to scroll down a list and look at each one.

Some of it depends on how robust the search code has been written.

We use elasticsearch 8.17 and are on the latest version. I've turned some features off though because it can be a bit annoying, but this is best in class search and completely offloaded on a separate server with its own compute engine. I also have additional paid upgrades to make it more flexible for people here. It's about as robust as you can get for this platform.

yes.. I do see the issue though.. In some cases it'll also match $375 which isn't what you want and for consistency for that type of caliber, fair point.. So instead i put quotes "375 h" anything before and after will match.

I've actually never heard of a lot of these calibers so its interesting to see so many. If we continue to grow, i'm sure we'll add more and more. I just want to grow proportionately

As this forum continues to grow, I think it would be wise to add a category for the other three most prominent sub-gauges of shotguns, reading as:

“16, 28 & .410 gauges”

Also, as time and growth continues, eventually slit up 12 and 20 gauge.

Eventually clustering all three together on the list like this would probably make sense to many who are selling scatter guns:

12 gauge
20 gauge
16, 28 & .410 gauges
