I don’t know that it’s necessarily ugly, but my Mauser Model 34 is somewhat ungainly looking. I like it, though, because it has the German waffenamt that tells me it’s led a long and storied life.

Back in the 80's I was at the Culver City show, an gentleman who was 3 years younger than God walked by me with a Colt Match Target 2nd model. I asked to see the gun, he said he was selling it for $100 with 4 mags and the holster rig.
The looked like it was dragged behind a truck for a few miles, then someone with a dremmel tool pulled a Bubba and did some hacking on it. The gentleman said it was his best and most accurate. 22 and while it looked like an abortion, it would be a great shooter, so I bought it.
40 years later I still have the gun because it's a phenomenally accurate gun and extremely reliable. Everytime i pull out the gun at a match or even for fun, everyone laughs at the Bubba job, but they stop laughing when I beat them.

PSA Ak74. It has a mix of different furniture. Absolute beater rifle that I don’t expect great things from.
