Question Why do those plastic cartridge dividers always fall apart?

I’ve been cycling my ammo stash and noticed the plastic cartridge dividers always seem to fall apart after 2–3 years. It happens with multiple brands, but I don’t see this with other plastic stuff at home. Any idea?

Maybe try something other then TulAmmo?

That stuff is fine for plinking. I've ran a ton of it myself. But I don't plan on long term storage. For that it's brass and higher quality stuff.

It’s not just Russian ammo. I’ve noticed the same issue with Fiocchi and a few other brands too. Could the slightly higher temperature in my gun safe be accelerating the plastic’s deterioration? I also wonder if firearm polymers are affected similarly.

Unlikely temperature. More then likely oils/lube from manufacturing causing a deterioration of the plastic over time

The plastic is probably something cheap like styrene with little chemical or oil resistance. Firearms tend to use nylon 66 with excellent heat, chemical and oil resistance
