Opticsplanet is selling triggers on clearance that are marked "defective." Are they nuts? (See bottom center1775878345847.webp.)

Who knows what “defective” means. Hard to believe they’d sell a trigger that was dangerous… maybe a manufacturing defect on the housing that’s just cosmetic or something?

I hope they just didn't have a category for "cosmetic 2nd"... if not, there's a "bin" for that...

Another possibility is that it's a returned item where the customer claimed it was defective to achieve a return, and the company determined it was functional, but couldn't completely test...

I've run into "consumer malfunction" many times, where they want to return something claiming it's "defective", and there's NOTHING wrong with it, other than a buyer who doesn't know how it's supposed to work... happens too often when you're running a business dealing with the "average buyer"...

That's just a glitch. the MPN clearly states it was used as a demo model.

Maybe but the part number indicates they were used as demos / display model
That would be fine if advertised as-such, but the word "defective" is alarming. I'm surprised the company would risk lawsuits if the triggers really are functionally defective. Maybe they should explain what they mean by "defective".

Blemished. Okay. Let's go with that. But why not say, "blemished?"

Would you risk it?

Agreed. I would not risk it but instrad would just email them about it.

A blemish on a new trigger is a type of damage or defect, but a defect can be far worse than a blem. Maybe whoever wrote "defective" is reckless with words but I would simply ask them.

I've bought a few of those that were more than 50% off, one was fine and the other I warrateed so it was still a great deal
