MoreauWorks - San Marcos

I recently PPT'd my first firearm. The seller set the appointment for their 10AM opening. Y'all, we were out of there by 1020.

The location is an industrial area, but easy to find if coming down Deer Springs from the 15. As this is 5 minutes from work and the whole process was so smooth, this will now be my go- to spot.

Have all your paperwork in order, scan the QR code to fill out your 4473 ON YOUR PHONE pay the $47.19 and go on about your day. An oil change takes longer.

Two things as an aside:
1. The firearm I purchased had custom work done at this shop previously; fit, finish and functionality seem flawless.
2. I inquired about some very specific, odd magazines I've been having trouble finding. They were able to locate them and requested to be informed when they next come into stock, so they can get them for me.

First time to MoreauWorks for a AR Pistol Lower PPT. The place is easy to find. Easy parking. Shop is at a small industrial complex. Nice couch available for waiting. Upon arrival the gentleman at the counter greeted us and asked how he could help us. After explaining what we were there for, he immediately collected our required docs and started on the DROS. After verifying that we had everything in order, he asked me to scan a QR code to begin the 4473, which is pretty nifty because I was able to auto-populate name/address (For all you weirdos, make sure you double-check your info, you don't want the alias that you use for your sancha to auto-populate). I asked if it was ok to provide the seller with his payment or if they wanted us to step outside, he chuckled and stated, "yeah no worries, we're cool here", indeed they are. The process was smooth and prompt. If you find yourself in San Marcos, look them up. They also do Cerakote, and other types of gunsmithing.

Guy seems nice. A while ago I ordered some 10 round mags for a specific model, and other mags to be blocked.

The 10 round mags were the wrong model and when I informed him, there was no attempt to resolve the issue. Ate the loss and just decided to not order anymore.

The other blocked mags were not processed in a way that would be viewed favorably by friends of the governor.

The rest of the order was correct...but it was also late, which I understand because it was during the covid era.

Have transferred two AR lowers through Tommy and a bunch of ammo orders. Always easy to get in touch, available when he says he'll be, and professional. Have seen great reviews of his slide work and hope to utilize those services down the line. Also sells blocked mags at reasonable prices.

Tommy is extremely supportive of the community without being a complete weirdo shoehorning politics to every conversation.

80 dollar fee for online transfers, and only the dollar background check for ammo transfers makes me shill for moreauworks to everyone who asks what gunsmith/dealer to go to. His ammo prices are fair to great.

Ive heard through the grapevine he subcontracts or something for other gunsmiths around socal with cerakotes and machining.

Great shop in North County San Diego. Friendly staff and owner. They do cheap ammo transfers and do excellent work on firearms.
