PWG - solid range facility, great rental + retail selection
Pros
  • Range cleanliness + safety
  • Rental selection
  • Retail shop
  • Extended selection via online retail shop
Cons
  • Highly variable drive if coming from south of the 8
Rented an Echelon 4.0C + 4.5F for a test drive, no problems to take both out on the range at the same time. Employees are friendly and knowledgeable, rental pistol selection is great. On-premise retail selection of firearms + gear is extensive yet purpose focused. Three separate ranges available (25 / 50 / 100 yard IIRC), I only shot at the 25-yd range but passed by the 50-yd range which seemed equally great. Overall facilities are in great condition and nicely appointed, slightly reminded me of a slightly bigger (yes) version of Texas Gun Club in Houston/Stafford, minus the obligatory wall-mounted antler / longhorn appointments… The variable 30-60 min commute from central / south SD is pretty much the only thing stopping me from dropping my current local-range membership and joining them for an additional $50-100 per year. For those in North County or that can manage the traffic, I highly recommend PWG.

Great place to shoot
Pros
  • Super clean and professional
  • Online reservations are very helpful through the app
  • Good selection of rentals to try
Always a good place to go. Lot of lanes and distances to shoot from. Store and lanes are super clean, haven’t come across many people
Shooting that made me feel unsafe. Always nice to demo a gun before purchasing it.
