👉 Glock 34 Slide on a 19 Frame (Gen 3) – Practical or Pointless?

Hey everyone, So I did something slightly ridiculous and threw a Glock 34 slide on a Glock 19 frame just to see if it would actually work, and more importantly, how it would shoot.
Short grip. Long slide. X300 already sticking out there anyway.

My thinking was:
If you’re already running a light like an X300 on a 19, why not get the extra barrel length for velocity and recoil/muzzle flip mitigation while keeping the shorter grip for concealment? Kinda like a G49 with viagra

Took it to the range and here’s what I noticed:

• Noticeably softer recoil impulse
• Very flat shooting
• Longer sight radius (obviously)
• Still conceals like a 19 grip
• Slight front-heavy feel, but mostly from the light It’s definitely a bit absurd looking… but it actually makes some sense.

I’m not keeping it permanently this way, just wanted to test it out. All OEM Glock parts except for one small adapter piece.

Would you run something like this? Or is this Glock tinkerer voodoo?

Mainly, why is it not a permanent setup and why do you have no plans to keep it that way

I have quite a few Glocks, which allows me to tinker and do stuff like this often, mostly for fun, but being that it is almost all Glock OEM parts it's still reliable.

The 34 slide goes back on my 17 frame, where it lives permanently. At the end of the day, I prefer the longer grip since it fits my hand better, unless I'm carrying, which I mostly carry my 43 or 43X these days.

I don't have this 19 on my permit, so it wouldn't be an option for me to carry at the moment.

Side note: Here's my 26 XXL? Lol. The ULTIMATE concealable Glock. Same deal, all Glock OEM except that little adapter piece. It doesn't stay like this either, but I can switch to these configurations any time.

I'll be out at Targetmasters tomorrow shooting as well.

I’ll be at Yolo tomorrow as well, but taking the class not doing the match. I’ll be there early to help set up the match, though. 5/2 at EDPS I am planning on shooting my G19 unless the holster for my DWXc arrives in time and they let me switch divisions last minute.

Curious what the little adapter is and where it goes? I don’t see anything.

Which squad did you get on for 5/2? This will be my 3rd time shooting on squad 3, which is an awesome squad. Seems a lot of the folks stay consistent in squadding together. I like the vibe on squad 3, so I'll keep squadding with them.

My 2634 is based on a 19, unfortunately wouldn't work with an actual 26 frame without having a huge open gap on the bottom due to the shorter dust cover. I probably wouldn't use something untested for the intro class either, you'll want something that you're familiar with and that you know works since it will already be stressful enough
