📌 Holosun EPS MRS Review

I recently finished testing the Holosun EPS MRS, and it’s definitely one of Holosun’s more interesting optics. It’s a full-size enclosed emitter that uses an RMSc footprint, which puts it in a strange category, not many full size slides support it without an adapter. RMR as of now is the more popular footprint from what I've seen.

Here’s what I found after about 300 rounds on a Glock 34 MOS using an Ohhunt adapter plate:

Build quality: 7075 aluminum housing, solid mount, no zero shift.

Reticle options: 2 MOA dot, 32 MOA circle, or both.

Brightness modes: auto, manual, and lockout for fixed settings.

Battery life: rated at ~50,000 hrs with a solar backup panel.

Performance: crisp glass, easy to track, but some (mild to wild) reticle distortion nearly everywhere.

Durability: zero issues after 300 rounds; held zero perfectly.

Verdict: The EPS MRS is durable, precise, and easy to shoot with, but it’s pricey for Holosun and the optical distortion is disappointing for a ~$400 optic.

Still, I’d recommend it for anyone wanting an enclosed emitter with a large window and long battery life, providing you can accept the reticle distortion. Obviously you won't run into this if you're just using the dot, but then there's no need to buy the MRS.

Worth $400? To me personally, it's not which is why I don't have one. Those prices are now in the Trijicon RMR territories. There are other optics on the market that produces the same performance at 1/3 of the price. The 507comp is a great optic though, I love the huge window and it's cheaper than the EPS MRS too.

I'm waiting on Osight's new release tomorrow. From the pictures, it looks like an enclosed optic. I hope it's an RMR footprint w/ green and red MRS.

Definitely agree, if the new Osight is a full sized, enclosed pistol optic that looks like a cross between the RMR HD & SRO, it's going to disrupt the market in a big way. Wouldn't make much sense for them to do it as an open emitter since they already have the C & X in this territory, fingers crossed!

You are absolutely right, lets hope it's enclosed RMR footprint. From the side view picture, its looking like the HD style optic. I've got a few osight's and they've been good so far. I can hit paper at 25 yards just like my RMR and RMR HD. I wish the reticle will be like the RMR HD w/ the dot and 55 MOA circle ring.

Yup, so far I have three C, one SE, and one X, not a single issue with any of them and the reticle distortion is less than Holosun. No hesitations about adding more Osights as they are far better than the other optics in their price range and beyond. They're doing to Holosun what Holosun did to Trijicon a few years ago. Definitely wouldn't mind some more reticle options, I'm sure they will get there. My buddy bought some of the SE' in Green Dot, I just prefer a 2 MOA dot if that's all it's going to be, so the 6 MOA dot was a no go for me. The X is cool, but it being so tall and not as wide as the 507 Comp is a bit odd. Overall I like the C more than the X.

For Holosun I have two SCS MOS, EPS Carry, EPS MRS, and two 507 Comps, so it's not that I don't like Holosun, it's just hard to ignore when I can outfit 3 pistols with optics for the price of one (compared to Holosun) or even more compared to Trijicon.

I'm grabbing a pistol that was made specifically for the SRO, and likely won't be putting an SRO on it because it's just too expensive for what you get.

LoL. you're like me. I have two C, one SE and one FDE 3MOA (similar to the X) green dot. I agree w/ you the X is too tall, the C is a perfect size IMO. I hope they keep the C size. I would purchase one if thats the case.

I saw, very exciting! Not exactly what I was hoping for but a SOLID offering for a great price. Will definitely be ordering one.
