Much more serious, the magazine is not in the grip, so it would require something like a maglock. But then how to load it? And a stock for shouldering it is right out, as then it becomes an SBR. Did I miss something?

A permanent single-shot 22 pistol doesn't seem terribly interesting to the masses, but I'm sure a collector or two will want it.

Aside from everything, you missed nothing.

You would have to replace the entire trigger pack to convert to a semi.

A mag lock isn’t required since my Chargers are built from virgin receivers and are built as single shot pistols.

The magazine isn’t an issue, use a standard 10/22 magazine. No mag lock required since it is literally a single shot pistol. Same as if you had a bolt action pistol.

The stock isn’t an issue because, as stated in the video, it is my personal SBR that I converted for demonstration purposes.

I completely agree, as long as you keep it single-shot, what you're doing is fine. But I fear there is no way to make it semi-auto and stay legal.

Maybe I am retarded but I am really, really confused on why anyone would need to modify this gun to be non-compliant for CA purposes?

Sorry, I didn't explain clearly.

Imagine someone in California wants a Ruger Charger that is semi-auto and magazine fed. Just like people want a 2011 that is semi-auto and magazine fed. Neither of the two is on the roster. For normal pistols, one way to get them into the state is the various forms of SSE: You temporarily add an upper receiver that is single shot (out of state), import and DROS the pistol in that configuration, then put the original upper back on. Yes, I know about the various complications which have made traditional SSE unviable, which is why we now have SSE2. Fortunately, for revolvers we still have the single action workaround, if dimensionally compliant.

All I'm saying is this: For the Charger, this doesn't work as easily, since the final product is likely an AW on two counts. So you end up with a pistol that can't be semi-auto.

What someone wants and what is available are two different things.

There is no better option for a Charger in KA than for my trigger pack for retaining most of the functionality and working correctly.

I'm sure there are people who enjoy your version of the gun. It looks like re-enabling the next shot is super easy, so it is close to the real thing.
