Hi everyone,

I really enjoy using the 2011 platform, and I'm deciding on the 3rd firearm to register on my ccw.

Always have used striker fired pistols, but I'm inclined to purchase a Staccato C4X for carrying purposes. I've never considered daily carrying a 2011, but the C4X is pretty appealing.

Curious to know your opinions.

It’s a great carry gun and a solid carry 2011 in particular. It hangs very well with carry 2011s double or triple its price. Relatively low cost (compared to what else exists in the 2011 space) and easy to find holster support for, more reliable than many traditional 2011s, series 80, more reliable mag ecosystem, some aftermarket option available to modify it, good warranty and support from Staccato, decent resale value.

IMO not a great carry gun when you can carry a polymer frame gun that will cost less, weigh less (big deal for something you use everyday all day), less finicky and more reliable in adverse conditions. But you just asked for an opinion :)

You can pickup a PDP Compact for $600ish and get a lot of training and ammo, and spare magazines with the 3+ grand you saved.

I think the C4X and PDP Compact are pretty comparable in weight, technically. Probably within 1-2 ounces of each other.

Been carrying a Staccato CS for 3-4 months now and really enjoy it. I, too, am deep in the 2011 game so it was kind of a no brainer to go with a CS

Oh interesting, I didn't realize they had a polymer framed 2011 wow. Well in that case spend the 4 grand I guess; if that's the type of gun you really want

Staccato 3.6

About 3oz more than a G19. Paired with a Tenicor, it's a nice lil setup.
Came to say the exact same thing. 3.6 hd with a type 2 RMR is about as solid as you can get imo, carries really well. Tenicor certum is a great holster and their spare mag holders are top notch also.

The C4X and C3.6 are both solid carry options. I've been able to shoot both and have no issues with either. Both are good compact 2011s.

I daily a ported HD3.6 in a Tier 1. I like it, comfortable

I have c3.6 on my permit and i really like it. I shoot it better than polymer strikers, and better than CZ P-01. It’s not heavy, but chunky. C4X is even better shooter without much of penalty in weight or length. Some have issues with hot spots, some don’t - YMMV.
I don’t carry it as much since getting bodyguard 2.0

It’s a forum that’s kind of the point lol

Curious why you don’t like it as much.
Fair.

It just doesn't shoot amazing to me for what it is compared to stuff that's in a similar weight class, offers more capacity, and slightly thicker. I also prefer a pinned grip safety and flush fit mags that aren't a snag point (some of the extra length sticking out negates the benefits of how well it otherwise conceals).

It's very concealable for a 2011 due to the V3 grip and design, but as a result of when it was produced it's not eligible or compatible with standard capacity magazines.

Also, with the soon to be released MJD CS conversion grips a lot of that unique grip profile will be reproducible for other 2011s.

Also, probably unfairly, I'm comparing it against everything else that exists in the 2011 world, including full or semi customs that can match it in terms of carry profile, weight, but obviously beat it in terms of shootability as well. Once you stop factoring in price, I think there are better options at the top end.
