Oh no, we won't be able to buy the $3700ish AR-15 that's illegal to own here in standard configuration :((((

I was tempted to get one with a comp mag but can't justify the cost

The hellfighter kit is lame, so glad I have a RAW. So much jank, and losing your bolt catch, though I have one on this AR-10. Comp mag is cleaner

Riiightttttttttt...... Like almost every other single AR/AK or 100's of other semi auto centerfire firearms........
Since its a factory compliant gun.... its not modified..... Its make compliant during the build process.... so its not modified.

You hate being wrong..... I'm sorry no one ever told you its OK to be wrong.

A standard configuration H&K MR556 is illegal to own (with limited exceptions) in California. You hate being wrong..... I'm sorry no one ever told you its OK to be wrong.

I personally wouldn't spend the money for some franken model, some would
 
It is a standard configuration..... Its not made non CA compliant and then modified for CA compliance..... It starts life as a CA model.
Your RAW is a Franken Model right..... Or did it start life as a BB AR?

I'm wrong all the time.... its OK.... Sorry your still trying to die on the hill of being right saying the MR556 is illegal in CA..... 1000's in CA to prove your statement wrong.

You posted in your RAW thread you still had a BB on yours and you needed it to register.... So you either have a Franken gun like most people or yours was manufactured CA compliant from the Factory. This does not make the guns weird.

The item you posted is not the CA sku so no, in that configuration it is not legal in CA.
Again that does not mean MR556's are "illegal to own here" like you claimed.

For me it’s illegal, AFAIK the only legal way to own one is if your LE dept writes you a letter saying it’s for your duty use. My friend that’s a CADOJ special agent can’t even buy a HK MR556 (normal standard configuration )
 
I’ve got an MR556A1 (prior version). It came with the Hellfighter from the factory.

Got a nice deal on it from a gun shop in TX that had one in stock (for some reason) and couldn’t sell it locally (of course!!).

Great shooting rifle, feels (and looks) like quality but man is it heavy haha!! I’ve heard the A4 is lighter?

Not a fan of the Hellfighter or any other similar maglock solution. I much prefer featureless, since the manual of arms doesn’t change from how I was trained.
