Goes based on when the DROS is submitted. So if you filled out paperwork on April 1st, you'd wanna wait until May 2nd to buy again

I did a ppt on the April 4th(got the firearm after 10days) then also ppt on April 7th(also got the firearm after 10days) last I ppt on April 19th(waiting on pick up this 29th) meaning I’m done on my 3gun per 30days?! Should I start counting the 30days from April 19th Before purchasing again?

It's a rolling calendar, so you can buy 1 more gun 30 days after April 4th, then 1 more gun 30 days after the 7th, and 30 days after the 19th. I usually recommend waiting 31 days to be safe, I have seen people get rejected for submitting another DROS on the 30th day, even if it was technically after their original DROS time and past 30 24 hour periods.

I had purchased 2 handguns from a local dealer on 4-1-26 thinking these may be the last 2 I ever purchase. As many with my condition do, I see an ad for 2 others that I just have to have. I meet for the PPT on 4-25-26 with the seller not even thinking about the new 3 in 30 law. I've done more DROS's than I care to admit and pretty sure that on all previous purchases of multiples the FFL put all firearms on the same DROS. Instead this one listed them separately and I somewhat grudgingly I paid the fee. An hour later the FFL calls saying I could pick up one in 10 days, but there was a hold on the other and we would both have to come back in 30 days to re-DROS the second. I know this is my f***up for not realizing the implications of this law, but I'm wondering if this FFL actually did me a favor by listing them separately and at least allowing 1 to go through?

I feel so relieved that you couldn't take possession of that 3rd or 4th gun. The harm it could have caused over the other guns you just got is unimaginable. We dodged an incident for sure.

This type of incident happened to me recently in April, sold 4 ppt to a buyer, never thought about the 3 in 30 law had just came in effect, end up getting a call from FLL few hours later notifying that 1 of the 4 gun got REJECTED (NOT DENIED) and I have to come pick it up and I end up have to pick it back up and give the money back to the buyer...

OP, since you recognize that you have “the condition” you need to get yourself an 03FFL+COE ASAP to avoid all this nonsense.

That way you can feed your condition and feel good, haha!!

Re: Multiple on ‘same’ DROS: A few weeks ago I did six on the same DROS *fee*, but each firearm got their own DROS number.

About a week ago I did two on one fee. Again, each got their own number.

That dealer was a bit shady, or ignorant on how to submit multiple firearms under the same fee. You paid double fees for no good reason.

Go get your 03+COE, haha!

You may need to also have an entertainment firearms permit to exercise that exemption which you would need anyways to legitimately work with firearms in motion/picture/television/video but that's just an annual fee and a background check and a copy of your business license.

I did download the needed info for 03FFL and COE. It wasn't that long ago when I was proud to live in the state where I've lived my entire life.
But dang it's tough to keep up with their unending B/S especially since they're constantly moving the bar. Although I have the time now that I'm retired, having to drive for hours to purchase something I can acquire in almost any local B&M in a free state (and for much less) sure makes an 03FFL and a move tempting.

I have never seen this happen and if it did I would call the CADOJ and make them fix it.
The law is very clear and the DROS gives an exact second on the latest delivery date after which you are good for another DROS.

When I get 30 day rejections the CADOJ tells the dealer that date and time of the previous DROS at the other dealer.
I have DROS'd numerous customers within minutes of a previous DROS without a single issue.

Did you call the CADOJ? What was there legal reason for not reversing it?

I did not. The store I was working at didn't really allow doing things the way we should be doing them at times. And realistically most of the times I had to call DOJ, I'd get some numbnuts that seemingly didn't even know what their job was or what they were able to do on their end, so I'm not even sure I would've gotten someone that could help.

Yeah Ive had CADOJ make mistakes before but I won't let up and escalate to the higher ups until its resolved, they hate me. LOL
