.41 Magnum S&W Model 57 Value?

Trying to get an idea of value on this beautiful pistol. Comes in a very nice wooden box and I have all of the original paperwork with it as well. Doesn't look like there are too many of them out there and from what I have seen the prices vary fairly significantly. Appreciate any help or insight.

10+ years ago I him-hawd around on 2 deals that popped up, Russian SKS as issued NIB, $325, and a 4" stainless S&W 657+ cross draw holster & ammo, $650. I thought about it, went back the next day for the SKS at a shop----gonners. Jumped in my rig and went down the road to another LGS that had a SKS Paratrooper (the 1st one I ever saw in the wild) that they were just marking down) $300. I'll take it. Next morning hook up with the .41 mag guy, sold it while I was gettin the Para. like most things, you gotta jump if it's in your budget or at least offer a deposit. PAX

I was lucky enough to buy it off a client several years ago from a client who was downsizing. Unfortunately I cant remember if he was the original owner or not. His kids has zero interest so I was the lucky one.

pinned recessed means 57 no dash. box does look 70s. -1 came out early 80s. so mid60s-80 depending on serial

Yes I need to research it a bit more. No dash N390XXX serial number

I'd impulse buy a decent one at a grand in a heartbeat. More than that I'd have to at least take it out of the case and hold it at the shop before deciding.

this puts it in mid 70s vintage 76-77ish. N serial change occurred 1969. Early S-suffix serial would have increased value.

Did some snoopin and there's a few at 1400 and no takers. some at unrealistic prices. I picked up a nickle 29 in same condition with presentation case for 1300. Store had it on GB for 1500 for months and no takers.
