Just got me a 4.75" 556 AR pistol upper, KAK brand.

Going to take to a indoor range.

Is it going to be loud? Obnoxious to other shooters? Fireballs?

Should I put a Q Cherry Bomb brake on it? I want it loud and flashy. How flashy would it be?

Accuracy at 25 yards?

Not sure if your range allow rifle rounds, but it is one sure way to be asked to leave at some indoor ranges. Indoor tend to amplified sounds. It will be loud enough to become unpleasant.

The indoor range i go to, in oc, allows greentips ammo. I shot a 15inch encore pistol in 308. Was louder than a 12ga shotgun. Definitely had people looking, and the elderly couple shooting next to me left quick. The woman was being startled at every shot I fired, they spent like 30mins range time.

They always put me next to grampas / elderly people, like they want me to make them leave lol.

AR pistols I would keep at 10.5, 11.5 even better. Under 10.5 is loud and the loss of velocity is not worth it.

Maybe try 300 blackout. I've seen them recommended at 8"-10" barrel length.
IMO, 300 Blackout is a caliber not worth trying in CA. No suppressor, no 300 or 8.6.

7.62x39, similar to 300, is much better for longer distance and power.

I do have a 11.5in upper, but with 4.75in and folding brace, my AR pistol could fit in bags where being discreet is much more possible.

If you're looking for lots of attention, why not get a 50 beowulf pistol upper? Go big or go home.

Cost and availability of ammo.

And that is 10.5 inches, so unable to fit into a gun backpack as complete.

50 Beowulf was fun while it lasted and when it worked.. As much as I shoot my 500 and 50ae and I could have easily reloaded for the 50 Beowulf too since I had all the components by the 1000s. But even that wasn't enough to convince me. It just wasn't reliable.

And if you were going to do a 50 cal AR the 500 automax is what you want

yes it will be loud- the percussion is so loud that just ear plugs alone won’t protect you and your ears will be ringing. You will want to double up with muffs over plugs.

An A2 style birdcage is probably your best bet at least with my experience it was. Using any other brake will make it very loud- it was unenjoyable to shoot with a brake. In a 7.5 piston setup. You lose about 900-1000 fps vs a 16” barrel but I can hit out to 100yards with ease against torso sized plates.

Gafs came through. $375 total for KAK 4.75" AR 556 complete upper, came with a SI Warhog comp on it. and Law Tactical Folder G3.

Going to be good :poop: and :D.
