Again, some sellers have figured out how to evade detection by listing products in other categories and disguising their true nature, but this is a list of what amazon allows and doesn't allow. If you look at that, you will see ebay is MUCH more permissive than amazon. This list in not all inclusive, and they reserve the right to deem any part as an assault weapon part at any time.

“Firearm accessory” means an attachment or device designed or adapted to be inserted into, affixed onto, or used in conjunction with a firearm that is designed, intended, or functions to increase a firearm’s rate of fire or to increase the speed at which a person may reload a firearm or replace the magazine, or any other attachment or device described in subdivision (a) of Section 30515 of the Penal Code that may render a firearm an assault weapon when inserted into, affixed onto, or used in conjunction with a firearm. The term firearm accessory also includes any other device, tool, kit, part, or parts set that is clearly designed and intended for use in manufacturing firearms.I keep seeing people talking about magazines but those aren't listed on any of these new rules are they?

I mean, maybe, but the state isn't saying that so I'm not sure why so many people want to make the definitions as broad as possible. The DOJ will put out a bulletin eventually that is more specific and then we will actually know. They won't be running sting operations for out of state vendors at 12:01 on Jan 1.“Firearm accessory” means an attachment or device designed or adapted to be inserted into, affixed onto, or used in conjunction with a firearm that is designed, intended, or functions to increase a firearm’s rate of fire or to increase the speed at which a person may reload a firearm or replace the magazine, or any other attachment or device described in subdivision (a) of Section 30515 of the Penal Code that may render a firearm an assault weapon when inserted into, affixed onto, or used in conjunction with a firearm. This is so huge and broad you can easily say magazines are part of it.

Wrong. The gun is designed to function only with a magazine, the magazine itself doesn't increase the rate of fire, it already fires at that rate.attachment or device designed or adapted to be inserted into, affixed onto, or used in conjunction with a firearm that is designed, intended, or functions to increase a firearm’s rate of fire
Without a magazine a gun defiantly fires slower.....
Then you just made the argument for: "The term firearm accessory also includes any other device, tool, kit, part, or parts set that is clearly designed and intended for use in manufacturing firearms."Wrong. The gun is designed to function only with a magazine, the magazine itself doesn't increase the rate of fire, it already fires at that rate.
I don't follow your logic at all, if you want it to be super broad then have at it but you aren't making a legal argument here. Look up the CRPA guidance doc and then wait and see what DOJ comes up with for guidance. They will be very specific in their bulletins to FFLs what is covered. Then you just made the argument for: "The term firearm accessory also includes any other device, tool, kit, part, or parts set that is clearly designed and intended for use in manufacturing firearms."
Since the gun is designed to work with a magazine the magazine would be needed to manufacture one right??
if the answer is no, then the magazine increases the rate of fire.....
This is why vendors don't want to ship to CA.
Funny enough the CRPA guidance does lost magazines but it's under the "assault weapons" definition which doesn't make much sense to me since a legal magazine does not make an assault weapon. But again, we will see what the state says, they won't just start arresting people they are going to put out guidance.I don't follow your logic at all, if you want it to be super broad then have at it but you aren't making a legal argument here. Yeah I just posted a followup to my own comment but they don't list it under the accessories which increase the rate of fire. I have no idea how they are coming up with that under the assault weapons definition but we will see. DOJ will definitely be issuing guidance before they start enforcement though. The CRPA guidance lists magazines.....
iii. Any attachment or device described in subdivision (a) of Penal Code § 30515.This category of items is the most comprehensive and complex of the three, as many firearm accessorieswill fall into this category. The following represents a general list but should not be considered exhaustive:
