May not change your answer, but you have to take into consideration that the op said during an "apocalypse, civil war, ww3". So it really doesn't matter how much support or aftermarket products are available for the ar, it's not like you're going to be able to go online and have product shipped to you in a situation like that

In America, AR hands down as .223/5.56 ammo is abundant.

If I was across the pond, AK for same reasons.

Totally agree right here. At is popular platform here but go mid east or block country its gonna be ak all day.

Super fun gun. I've shot a decent amount out of mine and it virtually has no recoil. Iron sights are more fun
