Alameda County CCW Training and Bay Area Tactical out of San Leandro

Anyone use Bay Area Tactical out of San Leandro? Their process to complete the 16 hour requirement to to split up training with three course. One event is a zoom class you take at home. Seems flexible.

I haven't done their CCW class, but I've taken pistol and rifle classes and they were pretty good.

I haven't taken their courses, but I know the owners/instructors (through previous interactions) and they're good dudes.

Funny fact, my CCW class (different instructor/company) was in the classroom right next to Bay Area Tactical at the San Leandro Range.

I did their 16 hour course for the CCW (city of Hayward) about 3 weeks ago. They were very informative and helpful throughout the process.

Day 1- classroom discussion/range time
Day 2- zoom class.
Day 3-short classroom discussion/qualifications.

You do not have to do all three classes in order. They are more than willing to work around your schedule. I did not have time for two 8 hour back to back classes so their setup worked for my schedule. They also help you get the Utah CCW (small additional fee). I dont want to go into full details about their classes but I highly recommend them.

Just finished my training (for Contra Costa) with BAT, and I highly recommend them. Good guys, good instruction, and the flexibility is great (that's what led me to choose them to begin with).

Was told rang qual can be several places including San Leandro range and even a private range in Livermore. They may have other locations

My wife and I used them. Friendly and accommodating for the CCW class. They do their best to get you through it as expeditiously as possible without putting themselves at risk of losing their certification.

They treat the live-fire portion of the class as if you are brand new to firearms. It was a bit of FML for me (20-year competitive shooter and part-time firearms instructor), but they pretty quickly realized that I didn't need remedial instruction and didn't hover over my shoulder the whole time. Do be prepared to fire a lot of pointless amount of ammo since you are doing the same drills that the noobs will have to do.

I don't want to say too much of what they do or don't do regarding the actual live-fire qualification, but I can say that they want to see you pass.

Good group of guys, I would recommend them to anyone who does not have time to take two 8 hour classes. The first day is a classroom session with a little bit of range time. Second class is a Zoom session during the week in the afternoon. Then you email them to schedule your final class and to do your qualifications.
