Anybody else notice the price of ammo keeps creeping up lately?

Get an FFL03 and shop at velocity ammo. Free shipping over $200 and no tax. Best deal on bulk they have is 124 gr igman at $240/k. Federal 115gr $245/k.
That is how my friends stock up and I can goblin their brass when we have range days. Might upgrade my Mark 7 Apex 10 to auto drive this year. But with anything best to just stockpile if money and storage allows.
Yep, good deal. I just picked up "9mm - Federal American Eagle 115 Grain FMJ 1,000 Rds Case" for $245, probably my favorite range ammo.

I'm a TS member but pickin's are slim right now.

Also, after an hour of searching online I found 380 ACP 95 Grain FMJ CCI Blazer Brass for .37/Rd. all in.

Target just restocked New Republic 380 95 grain range ammo for 27 cents/rd + shipping. Its solid ammo - I purchased 1000 rds last time it was in stock; not a single issue.

Out of curiosity, what would be the con? I usually see it being thrown out there as a favorable thing for Velocity Ammo.
You're still responsible for CA sales tax even if they don't charge it to you. If they don't then you are supposed to report it when you file your taxes. The FFL03/COE only exempts you from the 11% excise tax when you order from out of state vendors, and allows you to receive it directly.

Purchasing from a vendor that charges the CA sales tax like Target Sports USA means I don't have to keep track of it since I payed it already. Plus I have their annual membership which gives me 8% off and essentially negates all the CA sales tax, along with all the other perks of being a member.

Most people see no tax as a "pro" because they either don't know they are still required to report the tax and pay it, or they don't intend to. Whether or not they get caught is another matter. Personally, when it comes to anything related to firearms I dot all my "i's" and cross all my "t's".

Fair enough, I can see it being a con with the hassle people are supposed to go through to track purchases made without sales tax applied. From what I understand, this would be considered "use tax," not sales tax, which is still required to be paid to the state.

However, unless I'm grossly mistaken, you can also technically pay your owed use tax by estimating through the state's use tax table for personal items purchased less than $1000 each, if you happen to not have your receipts for all the purchases you've made where the vendor didn't charge sales tax.

I'm sure you're right, I'm a simple man and if I can pay it as part of the same transaction and forget about it, it's worth the peace of mind to me. One less thing to have to remember to do haha.

Fair enough, I've definitely spent more than I'd like to admit for ease of convenience :ROFLMAO:
