Ar upgrades

Hi guys, my buddy just made me a little upper as a gift. (Attached to the lower in this pic)
What are some upgrades I can do? I still have the basic stock and grip that was on the rifle when I bought it.

I like BCM grip and B5 stocks.
Some guys like Magpul.

If you have reddit or something, check out other people's builds. If you don't know what a certain part is, or have interests in a certain part, come ask here and I can 95% identify it for you, or others can help as well.

There are so many possible upgrades, its all mostly personal preference either based on performance or bragability.

First thing I’d do is change the grip. The mil spec angle is not the best

Trigger even if it’s a mil spec it can be reworked to break nice and lighter.

Scope can be nice too after that go with whatever feels good to you. I’d prefer a scope over a red dot on a 16 inch and longer barrel.

Can't go wrong with a B5 stock, and if possible a glassey bcg, with upgraded barrel. Everything else would be preferance at that point.

Essential (and cheap) - upgrade the touchpoints i.e. stock and grip. Magpul mags. Ammo to actually shoot till you know what *really* needs upgrading. Sig Romeo 5 red dot. A quality BCG like toolcraft, microbest, or BCM

There are hundreds of "how should I upgrade my AR". Read those. Your gonna waste money buying cheap chinese bull otherwise

I use Sparrow grips, a rubber stock stopper on MFT stocks, linear compensators up front for noise control.

Other tricks include lightweight bolt carriers, adjustable gas keys, 3 Oz tungsten powder filled buffers, 3 lb yellow trigger springs, 75% buffer springs and RAA two stage triggers. Leopold for glass.

Use a great barrel. White Oak and Criterion are good.

I always swap the grip and stock to my liking, usually either Magpul or B5 furniture. Next would be an optic. After that, I like to add any rail accessories like a foregrip or light.
