Dismissing other users' valid preferences as 'soft' is both rude and presumptuous. You cannot assume why someone dislikes a reaction emoji; many find it disruptive to business transactions on classified ads rather than emotionally upsetting.

No. A little yellow cartoon face on the internet, being "emotionally upsetting", to someone so bad that they have an outburst or have to beg someone else to remove it, makes that person soft.

Anyone who is not an FFL can't be engaged in the business of selling firearms anyway, so there shouldn't be any business transactions with non-FFL gun ads to begin with, unless CAguns is advocating for and supporting criminal activity.

If you haven’t learned our purpose by now, I think you’re actively undermining the site. There are many other sites that do way less than we do when it comes to advocacy, you can support those sites that you find legitimate.

We do not condone or support illegal activity, full stop. That kind of insinuation is not welcome. We will ban when people try to do shady things.

Do we have official rules of engagement, specifically for classifieds, posted anywhere? I know we have rules of conduct in "Terms and Conditions". But where can one find info that laughing emoji or calling out ridiculous prices on used Glocks are no go for classifieds?

For example I got warning just a few days ago (for post crapping and/or disrespectful and unnecessary comment), for responding to someone with suggesting to check FFL where same gun can be purchased for a few hundreds less (including dros and taxes) than asking price.
Got my warning, acknowledged it - no problem. Your site - your rules. I learned my lesson, and won't do it again.

One can say its common sense not to comment that way. Well, in my early days on GAFS I got three days ban for reporting similar behavior on my ad. I had something for sale, someone posted link to similar product for less (not even exactly the same). I reported, and got three day ban for "ish behavior". Because in gafs community people supposed to look out for each other. I guess over the years I got used to that mentality.

What I'm trying to say that if we had rules of engagement for classifieds, it will save some people from frustration, and save your time spent on following up on complaints. If we do have them, well fck me - I missed it

We're in transition with those rules. I used to remove the laughing emoji but we're going to change it to put it in the sellers hands if they want to remove it.

Right now, it's just the laughing emoji, but we'll likely allow it because in the long run it will be allowed. Existing sellers should be able to remove it in the future if they choose to upgrade and lock comments.

You can use the emoji's. The main thing is no thread crapping. GAFS also had that rule not to comment on threads but they didn't enforce it. I think it's still there. If it's factual then the comment should stand. If it's not available then it is what it is, but would you want someone commenting on your listing? If you're ok with that, most people aren't because this isn't reddit.

During Reddit days and now, as stand alone website, GAFS encourages call out unreasonable prices. But again, caguns is not a GAFS.

The biggest difference between us and GAFS is people meet up in real life. People talk very tough on the internet when they're anonymous. This is more regional so it's different and we need to accomodate for that.

Most of the warning are notices.. if you get 0 points it's not a big deal, but we notice if you repeatedly do it.
