The video says they are in a mobile home neighborhood; and their only garage would have been under that roof for their vehicle.

If the guy would have done it outside the bullet probably would have still went somewhere if he was facing the bore in a different direction; probably just not into the wife while showering .

Yeh, not inside the sleeping or eating quarters is a good idea for cleaning due to chemicals. Hoppes #9 is inexpensive and effective but it has a strong odor. Ballistol is a lighter but still smells. Boretech, Slip2000 EWL, and Breakthrough Solvent are quite gentle on the odors; somewhat close to odor free.

The “during” smell of hoppes can be quite strong. The “days after” of hoppes in barrel can be quite pleasant.

y'know, I've always pointed my guns at armor plates/panels when loading and unloading just in case they discharge it hits something
never thought of using the wife as a bullet stop

I miss the original Hope's no 9 formula with the sweet aroma of banana and benzine. I had a half full bottle of that and loaned it to a friend for a few days so he could also recall the wonderful scent that we grew up with while watching dad clean his firearms. Unfortunately, the neighbor passed away before he could return the elixir and the bottle is gone.

I always clear my guns at the range before I head home. Once home, I check them again. And I’ll check them again after I clean them, before I put them back in the safe. And then yet again when I pull them out of my safe.

No ND’s happening at my home.
