Blew my Mind, Holosun is owned by the CCP/PLA

You can’t exorcise this CCP optic loving demon that easily

You gonna need some more Colombian baddies
Sounds like you're coming to Cartagena this Dec

Lol an Asian friend I met off the OG calguns FB group like 10 years ago ended up hanging out with me in Medellin by random chance years ago. Crazy

and? vast majority of 2032s are made in China. I'm sure you saw that when you looked it up. So yeah, not that crazy to say that more likely than not a random 2032 is made in China. This isnt the gotcha you think it is.
Why are you so 💩ty about it? Its easy to find these batteries. Is the person trying to get you in the room with us?

That article does some good supply chain forensics but I'm not sure that I completely agree with their conclusions.

Is Huanic the only PLA optics supplier? If they aren't, who else is supplying them and what kind of market share are we talking about? The article's PLA social media screenshots are tantamount to sampling bias.

Are Huanic's engineers incapable of simply buying Trijicon / Aimpoint optics and reverse engineering them such that they require American reviews, product improvement suggestions, and money in order to modernize the PLA, and furthermore are those engineers not talented enough to produce their own tech?

Citing the Sig Romeo deal and the alleged subsequent improvement of holosun's products is speculation not evidence. SIG wasn't an optics company before they partnered with Huanic. So if the article wants to imply that some sort of technological transfer happened, they would need to point out what it was. And they also need to answer the question: why partner with Huanic at all if Sig could already engineer it?

I guess my issue is that I don’t think the evidence presented in the article actually establishes that Americans are materially aiding the PLA’s military buildup by buying Holosun optics. The corporate relationships are well supported but the causal link is not.
They just aren't that talented. The Chinese government focuses strongly on trying to steal superior American tech, 24/7. I've even been solicited by Chinese intel collectors before

Did they send Fang Fang’s sister agent to work you ?

Yup, I've known this for quite some time now. I refuse to buy any Holosun products, I've only ever purchased Trijicon optics, ELCAN optics (which are made and sold by our wonderful neighbors to the north, Canada) and I've purchased mostly Surefire lights and lasers but when I was a first time gun owner, I made the mistake (although I didn't know at the time) of purchasing a Streamlight light for my first gun ever, a Glock 19 Gen 3. I found out they do produce and assemble their products in China and I have not purchased anymore Streamlight products since my first and only gun. I've since replaced the light with an appropriate Surefire replacement.

I understand that some things just cannot be avoided especially when it comes to products being that China is the manufacturing king of the world since we lost that crown but I try my very best to only purchase American and/or NATO country produced products. It's guaranteed to most likely be compatible since NATO has unified equipment codes and stuff and I know its not cheap but American made products are just way more reliable. But yeah like I said, it's hard to find products that haven't been made in China to some extent. Our phones literally have Chinese rare earth metals in them, it's just not possible to avoid it in this day and age.

I honestly don’t give a crap where Holosun is made. 😂 A good product is a good product. My Tula ammo goes bang just fine, and the ICON tools I bought from Harbor Freight work just as well as the tool truck brands we used to buy, for a fraction of the price.

If people want to toss out their iPhones and Samsungs and replace them with Trump’s gold T1 phone, be my guest. 😂🤣

I only have Trijicon and holosuns but i did have to send in my rmr hd for warranty repairs after 2k rounds on it
Yeah and my Holosun broke mid firing. Stuff breaks

Comparing an American company like Apple to a CCP Chinese company like Holosun is quite disingenuous. Not sure if ignorance or purposefully conflating two separate concepts

Surefire LEDs are made in China. IPhones are primarily made in china. But we all use em with no issue. That battery in your RMR or whatever Trijicon optic is probably made in China. Like it or not you're supporting the CCP whether directly or indirectly. I mean 💩 even the article you linked says Sig collaborated with Holosuns parent company to manufacture their optics. Are you gonna boycott SIG for directly working with a company with ties to the CCP? Same as vortex which apparently works with Chinese companies to manufacture some of their optics.
Difference is that the iPhone is made by Apple, an American corporation. There is also no real substitute for their product (not buying Android lol RIP green bubble people).

Whereas optics are pretty interchangeable. Luckily I'm in a financial situation where paying a little more for an American brand like Trijicon with nicer fit and finish and made by other Americans is no factor.

Classic gawernator, ignore the parts he cant argue with so either threatens people or tries to flex something meaningless. Classic boomer fudd. Sig shill doesnt want to admit daddy sig supports and works with in his words a CCP company. Yeah go to Verizon and you'll find plenty of substitutes there. Holosun on paper is an American Company. CCP makes money from the iPhone you bought. CCP makes money from the Holosun you bought. Aint no difference CCP making money off you anyways. Congrats you found out what economic warfare is.

Lol gotta go for the personal attacks when the logic doesn't go your way I see. Yep I'm deffff a boomer LMAO.

You’re still conflating two different things. Apple is an American company that uses Chinese manufacturing in part of its supply chain. Holosun’s underlying manufacturing/R&D ecosystem is Chinese. Those are not economically identical relationships just because China gets some money in both cases.

And if SIG sources a particular optic from a Chinese OEM I don’t want to support, then I won’t buy that optic either. Owning SIG firearms doesn’t obligate me to defend every product or sourcing decision SIG has ever made.

The point is simple: I can’t realistically remove China from every supply chain in my life, but optics are easy. If I can buy Trijicon, Aimpoint, EOTech, etc. instead, I will. Paying a little more for an American or allied product is trivial to me.

Also, calling me a boomer fudd and Sig shill isn’t an argument lmfao. I’m 33 and I own plenty of non-SIG guns. Try addressing the actual distinction instead of getting emotional about my purchasing preference. Ironic since all my daily shooters are HK and Walther too, hahah. You're sounding a little obsessed

Yeah I used to like shooting cheap steel case Tulammo too, however sadly the Biden administration banned it in 2021 :/

Damn that's crazy. Anyway that Holosun HS510 and HM3X combo looking real tasty rn.
Is that like a poor man’s EOtech or something? Never heard of it. Save the money and just get a Chinese rep of the eotech magnifier and holo, same quality as holosun for less money most likely

I'm just yanking your chain. The only Chinese optics I've ever bought were for the airsoft replicas I own, cheap and easily replaceable.
That said, it sucks that we don't get many American-made options at the price point Holosun and other Chinese brands offer, and don't think we ever will, with or without gooberment intervention.
People buy Holosun because they're good for the price.

Probably not possible because we have the "good guy" stuff like "workers rights" (who needs those anyways, bring on the slave class) and environmental protections.

$112, China beating China https://www.ebay.com/itm/800038726185?_skw=eotech+magnifier&itmmeta=01M20FF8V0PFC1DFCTQW2R5STE&hash=itemba46062a29:g:4FQAAeSwC9NqTaDl&itmprp=enc:AQALAAAA0GfYFPkwiKCW4ZNSs2u11xDqCpALas8Kc2QooHUpKDo+33OrYffVBEsF6YqiJH4iVSfCaUv+ZM5fovHWAS3dJrEfwQMvYUv1pGXhqVNDL5lg45v1T7awZ2AQaontZVaUHID7IP+v1GtoGFYTaUtib3P2jp4eJ70qqpDDYkEaRl1qs+0qmItVH5Y0zPhMuQsFVw3i27GcBjaSUKv+1FRl9NJNe4PpUVdX3ykWsUA8s3HEqwlf73lpX19kToVpNStdjQrGQCRYhrNFqcQAE3E6bLk=|tkp:Bk9SR9aNvY-QaA

Yes you are right consumers are almost stupidly price sensitive, in many products. The fake gear and garbage amazon helmets and gloves I see showing up at CMSP classes... bruh. They'll save $40 over an entry level brand name helmet to get a fake no name china helmet off ebay or amazon that doesn't even protect you lol or have any safety rating, on what could be life or death for you. Yeah people just want the cheapest they can get too often
