Blew my Mind, Holosun is owned by the CCP/PLA

I know you and I have done business and I 100% want to say beforehand that I respect and appreciate your opinion no matter what.

However I'm sorry to say this but I disagree on the Surefire lights. Surefire lights are 100% manufactured, produced, and sold here in the United States. It's one of the few manufacturers who actually have the certifications that allow them to say they are 100% made in the USA. Sure, the batteries are definitely made in China, that's something we can never avoid. China has usurped the United States in manufacturing and production and it's completely unavoidable to NOT have something Chinese made or sourced. But at the same time, it's important that we try to minimize CHICOM influence in our firearms and gear no matter what.
Slight correction here. SF rechargeable batteries are chicom. Their 123A batteries are US made.

Yes, I'm actually incorrect about my previous point. The LEDs and rechargeable batteries are indeed CHICOM produced. Everything else is almost US made.

It doesn't help that when a design is created here in the U.S. It gets sent over seas to be mass produced, shipped back, then resold for stupid mark up. The creator makes a profit sure but who technically owns the schematics when it's a third world country that doesn't care about patent infringement.

OK - Aisle 3 has been cleaned up .

Stay on subject or start a new thread

Of course this thread would get derailed just when it was starting to get good and everyone would lose sight of the most important part of the discussion. Can we PLEASE get back on track with talking about the Colombian baddies (preferably with pictures)??

I'll be there for almost all of December, feel free to join lol. Wouldn't be the first time I met up with a Calguns friend IRL in a foreign country

Medellin has dummy hot girls like it feels unreal, my wife has hot af friends too lmaoooo. I'm trying to setup our boy here with a Venezuelan girl they're also pretty bad. 8/10 here is like a 5/10 in most of Colombia. Nightclubs are crazy when I was into that scene like 6-7 years ago it was like every few girls was an IG model

Also a lot less fat girls in general

The hate is deep rooted for the older generation because of war crimes like the rape of nanking. Older Koreans also have a deep rooted hate of the Chinese because of the Korean War. That hate is largely dying out for the newer generations.

You'll see Chinese tourists frequently in both Japan and Korea. It's similar to how we can visit Vietnam and the younger folks there don't care that we fought a very destructive and largely meaningless war in the homeland.

The latest from Beijing is posturing because the new Japanese PM is pro-Taiwan. China is discouraging tourism to Japan as a means of economic warfare.
Older Koreans hate Japanese more than Chinese. Japanese did far worse to Korea than China has (Occupation of Korea by Japan from 1910 to '45. As with Chinese hates Japanese far more than other Asian nations (Rape of Nanking/Nanjing.)

If there was a War within Asian countries, Japan is toast as other Asian nations possibly have far more manpower and firepower than Japan.

Jfc now it’s the history of Korean Chinese Japanese relations in here lmao. TLDR they all don’t like each other much

Surefire LEDs are made in China. IPhones are primarily made in china. But we all use em with no issue. That battery in your RMR or whatever Trijicon optic is probably made in China. Like it or not you're supporting the CCP whether directly or indirectly. I mean 💩 even the article you linked says Sig collaborated with Holosuns parent company to manufacture their optics. Are you gonna boycott SIG for directly working with a company with ties to the CCP? Same as vortex which apparently works with Chinese companies to manufacture some of their optics.
Correction... iPhone are primarily ASSEMBLED in China, not MADE, but we are seeing a large production shift to other low cost labor countries.

I’m sorry but have the levels of stupidity suddenly spiked on this board recently? who didn’t know this?

also the paranoia in these replies is equally moronic.

Well oh powerful and wise one,

Maybe someone like me that just got back into shooting this year since I left the military? Can’t hope to be omniscient like you but you may realize the US military doesn’t use holosun 😂😂 and handgun dots weren’t nearly as omnipresent like today

Ironically the stuff military uses is more dangerous than some 💩ty red dot made in China (im looking at you p320)

Never saw any issue with them in the military, or any issue with a CCW holder. Or really any issue in about a decade? What are you talking about

In case you didn't know, many factories in China are either directly or indirectly owned by the PLA, and staffed by PLA soldiers during their enlistment. After their enlistment is finished, they usually return to the factory and are given their previous job back. Some of the profits are funneled directly back to the PLA, which is funded not through tax dollars but through exports. Its a genius move; China's enemies are directly paying for their military's development and expansion. So, everytime you buy something on Amazon, Walmart, or wherever that is made in China, you are likely directly contributing to the PLA's budget.

Lots of people get on their high horse and publically state that they only buy "American." But secretly they will buy China every single time if its $0.01 less.

Anyone who hasn’t read “The Art of War” should probably skip it. Once you read it, you’ll see signs all around that the CCP is fighting us right now, and our greed and laziness is their most powerful weapon.

When I setup an LLC in China it was a legal requirement that the state owned like 50% of the company in order to do business there. Most American companies set up proxy companies there also owned by the state.

Most of these companies have moved production to places like Vietnam and Mexico so they can say they're not manufacturing in China and avoid tariffs but the reailty is much more convoluted.

That’s not exactly true. Foreign companies can own 100% of a company in China, except in certain highly regulated sectors (power grid, telecommunications and etc) where ownership is restricted. That’s why Tesla owns 100% of its manufacturing operations in China. In the past, however, foreign automakers were required to form joint ventures with Chinese companies, with Chinese investors holding at least 50% of the equity. That did not necessarily mean government ownership, the Chinese partner could be a state owned or private Chinese company.

No they aren't. In fact, they are made in the same factory that makes the lights for Pelican and Streamlight. They do the electronics there, and machine the aluminum bodies here. They ship the components from China to California, assemble them, and call them Made in USA. They legally qualify as Made in USA, so they aren't lying but they aren't advertising where everything comes from either.

They are pretty open about it.

SureFire is absolutely an American manufacturer. The confusion is over what the FTC legally allows them to stamp “Made in USA.”

Their lights are designed, machined, assembled and tested here in the US. They even manufacture most of their own circuit boards. The issue is that the actual LEDs, and some other components, are imported because there basically isn’t a domestic source for the type of high-performance LEDs they use.

Because of that, an X300 or Scout Light can’t necessarily just say “100% Made in USA” under the FTC’s extremely strict “all or virtually all” standard.

That is VERY different from a Chinese-made light being imported by an American company and having their logo slapped on it.

SureFire actually manufactures the products here. Some of their stuff, including their suppressors and magazines, is 100% US made.

So basically: SureFire = American manufactured with some foreign components.
