That works too and that's what I've done, but I DID strip one optic screw once. Thankfully I was able to extract it. I'm going to try Purple and see how it goes.
 
I had my LGS's gunsmith install the green dot from Viridian RFX-1 on my Bodyguard CC because i don't have the tools and to be honest, didn't want to F it up and they also bore sighted to 7yrds. I was able to keep it on target for the most part at the range, but, my grip needs to improve for it to be as good as it can be. Having said that, I like the feel, very low recoil as compared to my Beretta 70S and Girsan MC14T. I just need to improve myself with it. Ran like a champ, no issues except for me.

Have not experienced this issue, yet.

Realistically, I would only use the BD 2.0 in close range situations. The dot might not really matter since the treat would be so close.
