I don't own either one but still considering both for EDC.I was just wondering how many of you who own the bodyguard would have got the 43X if it was available at the time you got your gun.I'm still leaning toward a compact 9mm but everyone I know who has the bodyguard 2.0 loves them.

I own both, and quite honestly I have a classified up with a rifle for sale or trade and one of the trade items is another body guard 2.0 carry comp. It’s small enough that IWH feel like nothing and visually super concealed. I love both those guns for many different reasons, both are great CC weapons I just prefer the S&W, and same with my wife 🤷🏻‍♂️. But with that said I will rock the 43x all the time too kinda just depends on what I’m doing and where I’m going.

You’re trying to compare two different animals that shoot different calibers.

People will tell you to shoot both, buy both.

I hate Glocks with a passion and don’t see the appeal of a single stack G43X.

I love my BG2.0 Comp. It’s ridiculously easy to conceal and shoot.

You’ll have limited options if you want to add an optic.

🫡 This right here is 100% correct, they are two different systems. I love my BG2.0 too lol. I’d probably sell the Glock before I would even have the idea to sell the BG lol

Ackshuallly the caliber is the same it's the cartridge that's different. I'm the pedantic police lol

I tried one out on Saturday and was surprised at how grippy the frame was, I was expecting it to be a little snappy and it wasn't at all.

Yes I understand what you are saying but I think a lot of people were looking at other compact 9mm like the shield and hellcat etc before deciding on the bodyguard 2.0 I will shoot all of the guns I'm considering before buying but this was just a question for those who picked up the bodyguard 2.0 my EDC is a Ruger LCR 327 federal magnum

What’s your use case?

BG2.0 is the best for deep concealment/pocket carry, but many argue the cartridge is suboptimal for effective self defense. If you’re looking for ultimate carry versatility, this will give it to you.

A Micro 9 (I would lean shield plus over 43X, but either works) is going to be bigger and heavier, but with a more powerful round. You can use it for 95% of the same uses as the BG2.0, but pocket carry/athletic wear carry will be much easier with the BG. If you plan to build out a carry rotation, I would start with 9MM over 380 and get the BG later.

I feel these are still different use case guns. BG 2.0 is if/when you need the ultimate light weight and small but highly shootable gun. It loses out due to this niche on capacity, support hand space, ballistics on .380 vs 9mm, etc.

I’d get the BG 2.0 and a Shield X instead of the 43X. If fact, I did exactly that, to replace a G43 with extended mags. Same controls with two S&Ws so under pressure you have less to think about.

The BG 2.0 carries really well, except the grip texture eats my side, so I went with Talon grip tape.

Like others have said they are different animals.

I only carry my BG2.0 in my pocket with a pocket holster. If something is going on my belt it's going to be bigger (Glock 19 or CZ P-01).

The BG2.0 is carried only when the choice is BG2.0 or no gun for deep concealment or active activities.

This, basically. The BG 2.0 is perfect for when you need or want a gun but can’t have a gun or can’t be as bothered to carry one that day.

That being said, I wouldn’t feel undergunned even if it was my primary as it’s a great shooter and easy to call shoots almost as fast as you can pull the trigger at 15 yards and in.

I do prefer some minor mods done to mine, but it’s good stock too.

I agree with the others, shield plus is the rational choice. Just don't ever pick up a BG2.0 because you will feel inexplicably compelled to get one, and start bargaining with yourself about why 380 is sufficient.

Also this.

The frame of the BG2.0 is witchcraft. I still don’t know how they managed a 2.5 finger grip with a beaver tail on a pistol smaller than my hand.

I own the BG 2.0 CC, a 43X, and a Shield Plus (and a Shield X).

At the range, there’s no comparison between the trigger and feel of either of my shields compared to the 43X. I keep the 43X because it’s a Glock, and I’ve carried them for many many years. However, if I choose a nine mill compact to carry, it’s generally my shield plus.

The bodyguard 2.0 is in a class by itself when it comes to a 380 auto. I have owned just about every version of the LCP, including the LCP Max. Nothing shoots as well as that bodyguard. I can shoot the 2.0 carry comp and it shoots as easily as a full-size 9 mm for me. There is the limitation on ammunition, but realistically as a concealed carry holder, you’re not out there trying to be John Wick. You’re out there to defend yourself. Should the unthinkable find its way to you.
