A note on why more of the site now requires an account: automated scrapers and AI systems have been crawling our forums and classifieds at a scale. Requiring sign-in for those sections is the most effective tool we have. It takes a minute to register, it's free, and it keeps what happens here between actual members.

Brand stereotypes. What does the owner look like before you see the gun?

Here’s my starting list:

Glock. Says it’s perfect out of the box, then replaces every part.

1911. Has been explaining why .45 is better since 1983.

HK. Thinks your gun is a financial problem.

SIG. Has a favorite generation of a model that came out six months ago.

CZ. “Have you tried a CZ?” is both a question and his entire personality.

Staccato. Will find a way to mention the price before you ask.

Beretta. Wanted to be in an action movie. Bought the correct prop.

Taurus. Swears this one is different. It has been different for six years.

KelTec. The gun looks like a prototype because it is. He likes it.

Daniel Defense. Has the rifle. Has the hat. Has not taken the rifle out of the safe since the last panic.

Springfield. Either a 1911 guy who says two world wars, or an XD guy who does not bring it up.
I got your stereotypes right here.

  • Les Baer — Believes a 1911 should require a wrench, prayer, and 500 rounds before the slide moves normally.
  • Swiss K31 owner — Surplus collector who enjoys making Mauser guys uncomfortable with group sizes.
I was waiting for these two. I think we forgot to mention the amount a K31 owners boasts about his load data for the 7.5x55 Swiss cartridge. Also, did we forget the night hawk owner?
