Is there any official documentation on that? They didn't allow it on the roster but some FFL's are still DROS'sing them.

They never really issue documentation on those things they just confiscate them from FFLs/Individuals, Route 66 I believe posted about their GTOs being confiscated sometime in the last year.

GTO comp uses a lug design.

any lug that twists to attach something is considered "threads". If it goes on straight it's fine apparently. Thanks god no one every invented a suppressor that merely clamps on an unthreaded barrel.

The silver lining for me here is that the time it takes to save up for one of these P211s lets me see if there’s any weird jank people end up experiencing with the CA models. And maybe early adopters will want to sell their existing 2011s quickly and cheaply to fund their P211s?

The Kimbers still seem nice though, hopefully they also get added on soon

Agree and I have both....well I have the GTO not GT5...and GTO position in my opinion based on this list that I own P211 GTO > Atlas Artemis > Staccato XC > Kimber 2k11. Ran these in SCSA L1 and USPSA L1. Also I'm referring to performance and not quality. Best bang for buck also goes to GTO. I can imagine GT5 is similar to GTO and of course obviously the GTO has a comp.

GTO lug is proprietary to the comp. It doesn't accept suppressors. It's basically like a Ramjet. DOJ made claims to alot of things like when they said AR pistols with SB braces weren't allowed because the buffer tube can "accept" regular rifle stocks and made AR pistols an AW and SBR. Then thehy didn't care. Then came up no braces because people can shoulder them. Then they said it's ok as long as you don't shoulder. I remember those day when I went to the range and was denied entry because they were afraid people were gonna shoulder AR pistols. Now no one cares.

Yeah like I said pertaining to performance "in my own opinion". And just because a certain 2011 is double the price of another 2011, doesn't mean it is double the performance. Ran them in USPSA and SCSA and GTO is better imo than my Artemis. Quality wise and build wise, Atlas is king. But GTO is par with XC quality build.

You’re confusing the federal Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF) with the State Department of Justice.

That’s a completely different scenario. The California DOJ is strictly adheres to the letter of the law as they interpret it. A lugged barrel is considered a threaded barrel.
