At what level have you used a firearm defensively?

  • Displayed a firearm but did not draw

  • Drew from holster but did not fire

  • Aimed and gave commands

  • Fired "warning" shot [sic]

  • Shot an attacker

  • Have never used a firearm in self defense in any capacity

Thankfully never was in situation I needed to use or even show my gun since getting CCW permit. Once, long long time ago, I think I was 19 or 20 at the time , i found myself surrounded by a few lowlife dudes with knife drawn. Lost some cash and self esteem then.
In 2020 someone tried to break in through my front door. It was quite Friday night, around midnight, kids were asleep. Wife and I were watching TV when we heard someone yelling and loud bangs on the front door. Wife called cops, they came in like a minute. Turns out our drunk neighbor from two doors down mistook our townhome for his :)

Mine made me to buy a gun after Katrina. I did not resist, but I was also not given a choice. It was like "you buying a gun now".
