Hey I was curious with SB 704 and AB 1263 being in affect, is there no way for me to obtain any CGW parts or is this something I have to order through an FFL?

Well my most recent build that was purchased last month through SC was a single action so I didn't need the disconnector. But yeah looking at what they have available it looks like they only sell the firing pin block model disconnector with the trigger. They also seem to be out of stock on the race hammer. but you do want the race hammer, that's a big part of the upgrade and if you are fitting the adjustable sear you will only be able to do it once so you would need the hammer now vs upgrading later.

Why can't you upgrade to a race hammer if you use the adjustable sear with a standard hammer?

It's worth having CGW do the work as they are experienced with polishing the internals.

These restrictive laws suck though.

If you can afford it maybe. Just think you have to pay for shipping both ways and what they charge for installation. That and parts cost can get expensive. This is why I do all my own work and for people I know.

My understanding is once you fit them and use the gun any significant amount, if you then replace the hammer you need to replace the sear also as they fit/wear together. CGW recommends replacing the sear any time you replace the hammer unless the sear is brand new (new gun)

What you are adjusting on the adjustable sear is the fitment to the safety with a specific hammer, so I don't believe if you fit it to the stock hammer it would work with the race hmer because thats the whole point of the adjustable sear, the stock one won't work with a race hammer

You can try just installing the adjustable sear without the loctite, it's really all about keeping the function of the safety so if you don't need the safety to work it should be fine temporarily

Ok my little brain just kicked in. You can use a stock sear with a race hammer you just have to file fit the sear where the safety hits it until you have clearance to actuate the safety. I just remembered I did this once before.

That sounds right, I've only ever used the adjustable sear

What shop? I may be interested.

I have no problems installing springs (except trigger spring that thing always kick my ass) and polishing of non essential parts.... But I am not touching sear etc. man needs to know his limitations.

Yup. Just recently got my Shadow 2 Orange back from Cajun but couldn't order parts (but they did slip something in the case that I needed).

Now this is interesting, I need to give them a call tomorrow. I had a P01 done by them way back and i am not sure if can replicate the magic they have done for my shadow2, albeit, I have all the parts needed to do so
