Calguns Account Suspended?

Whatever the situation CalGuns should NOT be written off, the archival value alone is inestimable to the 2A community in CA. A merging that keeps the active threads of the two sites would be ideal, with an "archived thread" history/museum to presserve the legacy.

With the state of lawfare in CA, the 2A DEPERATELY NEEDS strong support, CAGuns came along at a crucial time, and hopefully in one way or form, the old grizzled veteran CalGuns can rejoin the fight, soon would be good.

I don't think that it should be written off. I'm not a tech guy so I don't assume that it's an easy feat to create something that is usable and modern; otherwise what is the point of keeping an "injured animal alive?" Half the time I can't even access the site. It's like having that 60's car that is in the drive way and at times the engine fires up and there are times when the engine won't crank over.
 
Out of professional courtesy, I'm going to ask folks to keep it cool.. I still owe a lot to Calguns for giving me the opportunity to step up to the plate. Kes never banned me or did anything or said anything to stop the rise of CAguns. I have to respect & appreciate that. Things could've gone very differently. Should they need help, to make it an archive. they know where to find me.

I would definitely offer your help. This would be at minimum a good gesture. I believe this type of dialogue can be extremely helpful as I personally would appreciate true and honest feedback.

Hadn't tried to log in over there for a bit because of all the site function problems. Was able to log in just now, and I can see I still have a couple of messages in the "Message Center" from last year that I can not access or read because every time I click on the message center I get kicked out of the website.

That particular problem for me started last September.

You're only getting annoyed lately? Its been an issue for the last few years. I don't recall exactly when it started but it hadn't been usable for quite a while, at least whenever I'd tried to log on.

Mine as well put a pitch fork into Calguns..Kes should just merge all its members to this form and call it a day. I genuinely feel bad for the guy. It's seems like he is so invested into Calguns that he can't let it go. Sometimes you gotta tap out and that's okay.
 
Fanboy here!! Calguns was great prior to whatever they did to cause all the problems. Sounds like you're a sponsor and you are vest some how.
 
It appears Calguns needs to be reset multiple times a day to function. It appears that somedays this is happening enough for it to be relatively seamless, and some days not.

It should be apparent at this point that it is very unlikely to be fixed. If the board owner had come out several years ago, and asked for help, I have no doubt he'd have got it whatever was needed. I think he'd have got the expertise he lacks, funds, etc. I think people would have been enthusiastic to help. But, that didn't happen.

Enough time has now past, with no communication, that I think I lot of the goodwill people had is gone. I think the lack of communication in particular really irks people. Sure, it,'s his private board to do as he likes. But, many people poured a lot of time, and shared a lot, in order to help build the community it was. They deserved better.

I agree. I will donate money to help the site, but as you mentioned. The lack of communication is troubling. This forum is what Calguns was and what it should be. I encourage people to come over to this forum from Calguns. I'm thankful for all the wonderful interactions with fellow calgunners on the Calguns site and I thank Kes for his time and effort to the site.
