Two guys are coming into your house and you aren't the world's best shooter (or even close). You want 10 rounds or more?

So here is where the globalists want us. Capitulating the right that physically protects the individual because others refuse or are unable to address the other social and mental health issues. Thereby decreasing our ability to defend ourselves; ultimately from a tyrannical govt.I appreciate the civil discourse. We are going to need much more of this if our republic is going to survive.
The 'problems' you listed are real and I would probably even add a few to your list. However, listing the problems is not the same as solutions. I have seen no indication that our nation is ready to even seriously address broad social issues. So, in the meantime, we have to try things that we can actually do. I would love for anyone to offer a practical suggestion that would make a dent in the issue.
12 ga with 00 buck would always be my weapon of choice in a situation like you describe. Two guys are coming into your house and you aren't the world's best shooter (or even close). You want 10 rounds or more?
I'm a pragmatist. I will always opt for an imperfect remedy in lieu of no solution. So here is where the globalists want us. we're seeing the fall of other 1st world nations. Lets not join. We've made it this far.

Welcome aboard!BTW, Hello! I’m a new guy here.
I can understand this. I respect your position.I'm a pragmatist. I will always opt for an imperfect remedy in lieu of no solution.
I appreciate your feelings on the matter. Since we all live in this society together, it behooves us to cooperate and find practical ways to mitigate the carnage that has befallen so many innocent children and adults. The only way our society can work is through compromise, without that we will be living in anarchy and at each other's throats constantly. That isn't going to benefit anyone but those who thrive on chaos. The beauty of this country is that I don't have to (or in the current event's case, shouldn't have to) offer a solution to keep my arms. Hence, "shall not be infringed."
The remedies that you try or don't try should not inhibit my ability to defend myself. And laws like this absolutely do that.
I'm reading the Gulag Archipelago right now, so your post hits pretty solid rn.Feel free to skip this post if you don't want to read someone else's emotional and slightly off topic rambling.
My grandmother was a chemistry teacher. Because that was considered counter-revolutionary in the political climate she lived in, a group of patriotic young men (and sometimes women) with little red bands on their sleeves would break in, beat her, and drag her out to the street to humiliate and make an example out of her. My grandfather was a doctor, he hung himself when my father was 11. I never knew him at all.
I'd like to imagine that if a government would like to try that stunt again that at least the citizens be well armed. Maybe then the young patriots would need rifles themselves. And ammunition. And training. Maybe they'd think twice. Maybe they'd still win, but at least it would COST them something.
More than just a little red band.
So, what would you actually do to address the issues at the core? Not look at but, actually do?The compromise has already been happening; and the measures taken to erode the second amendment have not yielded improvement- instead crime and mass shootings continue to rise.
Because, the remedies being tried aren't addressing the issues at the core, as has been stated by others.
Foul ball- you didn't answer the question.12 ga with 00 buck would always be my weapon of choice in a situation like you describe.
Right now, I have to work about 55 hours a week minimum to make ends meet. With all the taxes I have to pay and none of it addressing what the govt promises to help with in the areas that I think are the core of said issues; I don't have a second chance to restart my life and become a sociologist or economist then maybe move my way into politics. So, what would you actually do to address the issues at the core? Not look at but, actually do?
I thought the answer was self-evident, in your scenario I'm fine with the 7+1 00 buck that my 870 accommodates. Seriously, I wouldn't need more than two rounds.Foul ball- you didn't answer the question.
An imperfect remedy that causes more harm than good (AKA "common sense gun control") is NOT an acceptable approach. PERIOD.I'm a pragmatist. I will always opt for an imperfect remedy in lieu of no solution.
I covered this earlier. Nothing has changed yet in CA law. Nothing likely will until the case is decided or rejected by SCOTUS.Anybody? What happens with the freedom week magazines? Can you use them or do they sink in a boating accident
I'm guessing you don't live in an urban area (apartment or close in houses) or a house with lots of other people (kids?). My daughter puts it this way - "too messy" if I mention the shotgun I bought during the pandemic... Personally I'm very conscious of overpenetration potential, or unintended impacts to an innocent person. Slugs have intrigued me... still messy, but if they are accurate...I thought the answer was self-evident, in your scenario I'm fine with the 7+1 00 buck that my 870 accommodates. Seriously, I wouldn't need more than two rounds.
