thanks, I asked ai too which is what lead me to the actual penal code where I read about the exception in subsection C part 3 for transporting it unloaded locked case but I never found the actual BART code of conduct in your reply. The Bart code of conduct says A person is prohibited from "Carry or possess any weapon in violation of the law" so my guess is as long as I am not violating the law in how I possess or transport then I'm good?

my plan was to put my pistol case in my roller tool box or a suitcase so it doesn't draw attention and for getting them stolen, there are tons of people on their laptops with headphones on who would be much easier targets for robbery than a big guy with a heavy bag filled with wrenches and hammers.

I think if you were going to go in a roller tool box or a suit case you might as well go; the get a ride route. You’d be more incognito, if you just went with one or two pistols, unloaded, in a locked soft range bag; in a jansport backpack. Ammo in a separate, non-tactical gym looking bag; that is structured. But don’t bring too much ammo either; or just watch how you set the ammo bag down because of the thump noise. Grey man is the concept; nothing tactical looking, no camo, no molle, and nothing that makes the general public think “military”.

I don’t like the guitar case idea either; maybe you have a nice guitar worth taking to boost.

I noticed that in the bart code of conduct too. It doesn’t say anything about prohibiting firearms.

I think you’d be more safer investing in a gas moped (with a helmet) or one of those road runner electric scooters to get to the range.

The rs5x can go 50 mph. Their RS7 can go 70mph. You could find a safe location at the range to charge your scooter to get back home.
