Been shooting IDPA but want to try USPSA CO. might just run with what ever gear i have.

Shadow Systems XR920 w/o magwell
Comp Tac holster
Ghost 360+ mag pouches
Nexbelt Titan EDC belt

Is the drop offset belt attachment for the Comp Tac holster legal for USPSA CO?

Seen so many people spend like they’re in World pts contention.
Then they give up when they don’t understand optics enable your movement tempo.

The comped slide on my X-Macro will put me in Open Division. Should I get a non-comped slide for carry optics down the line? I guess it doesn't really matter and I should just show up with my as is for the first intro class, lol.

Classification wouldn’t matter to me if I wanted to try the recipe I had on me 24/7.
If you weren’t carrying it, but you like whatever best, it’s about you doing what you want with the fringe benefit of time+stage complications to work on if you deem it to be beneficial irl for yourself.

The people mentally shrinkwrapped into their lane, they aren’t you or me.
In activities like this, as long as you are being safe, do you.

You could hit whatever intro sporting class, shoot only practices, and make $ decisions based on your practice reps.

Running ten rounders from concealment is gonna suck it means 4 mag pouches, I would definitely just go shoot a match with what you have and see what it's like before spending a bunch of money.

What I still need to do and seek advice on:
-Good belt and mag pouches for concealment draws.
-Determining which Sig P365 Macro grip module would be best at managing recoil.
-Needing to figure out how to run a bunch of Sig 10 round mags.
-Is the Radian Backstrap allowed in Carry Optics?

I followed @Vurtne advice on concealment gear. +1 to the KORE belt and T1C APX (link below)

You’re going to want to be able to carry up to -40rds total so enough mag pouches for that and a belt magnet to hold your start/finish mag.

I’d also add that I wouldn’t recommend starting off with competing concealed.

There’s another level of difficulty and safety that you shouldn’t be working through starting off.

Just do the minimum amount of work to get your first classification without getting DQ’d then layer on.

I think OP should take whatever classes that range requires to be cleared onto their action range.
Then shoot practices, and figure it out.
Even a series of half days walking around a stage or array would help them gel at least safe movement.

I have RO’d dudes that I’d never seen at a practice day that only shot whatever range events.
They never look comfortable or like they’re getting anything but iterative stress and chaos.

the ranges they are talking about require the class first anyway so that was already implied

I kind of wonder whether Zermatt will find a way into the state via SSE so that once they hit the 500 units and get approved they can be run in CO.

I asked and they said they had no plans to bring it to CA. Though, that could change in the future.

If there’s an email on that page, send a message to someone asking to get on a waitlist or when the next sessions will be scheduled.

There another thread here where we discussed available orientations, primarily in the Sac area. If you can find one of those, I believe Richmond accepts them.

Then maybe signup for one of the intro matches at Richmond.

Email what’s his face back and let him know you are serious.
Request that you are penciled in on a wait list, in case of last minute drops.

Otherwise hit up the range in Concord bc I had guys from there at my Richmond preflight uspsa class like 20 years ago whose home range class was full. See if they have room, or the range up in Davis.

Think we all shot BARC or CASC together like a few weeks later.

Remove shooting or uspsa, call the activity basketball.

I do not expect anyone that hasn’t played basketball to run out to buy head to toe gear when they should work on dribbling, then running up and down the court with control, then static scoring from the key.

That mindset explanation work better?

Bc I’ve been running squads of people with all the right gear and no visible indicators they’re used to riding a bike thru commute traffic competently.

That initial class is bare basic.

I shoot a full size Echelon in CO. Just switched back recently after shooting LO since basically before it was officially a division(shot SAO non comped in open div).

I have a little kydex company and we are an OEM, so I make my own gear and we are also a Kore belts retailer.
I like to run a light on my gun, since it's basically my home defense weapon. My holster is actually a 320/x300 holster(fits most guns perfectly, just FYI ) because I'm too lazy to make a proper Echelon holster.

No reason to overthink your gear as long as it holds your stuff where you can reach it and let's go of it when you need it to.
