I'm thinking about switching to CCWsafe from AOR. They have better civil and bond coverage which is nice.

There’s a chance prosecutors don’t even go after the sb2 violation.

It doesn’t seem in the interests of justice. I can’t find an example of someone getting charged for violating sb2 either

Well SB2 is part of the penal code so that would be "unlawful", even at it's worst though it's a misdemeanor that could get reduced to nothing even if he were charged based on the situation of the case. Considering he's basically a local hero, there's no public interest at all in prosecuting this guy.

Sounds like the person with a knife was having mental issues and stabbed themselves?

Unfortunately this attitude people have in terms of “just leave” “not my problem” “they weren’t threatening me” shapes the culture. Even if you’re there with family, kids etc getting them to exit safely is its own logistical nightmare in that situation vs you acting. Elijah ens could have left the food court with his girlfriend easily given how far he engaged that attacker from but he didn’t and is held as a hero by a lot of people.

Recommend charges to the DA, who is a Republican not a Democrat. They may also see SB2 as no longer enforceable due to the Supreme Court ruling either who knows. Discretion is huge.

and then the deranged knife attacker sprints at his daughter stabbing her in the neck and she dies on the spot. But hey, at least he was able to run away while he let his daughter die. What a real man .

People voted for the state of affairs here in LA county. They shouldn’t be surprised by things like this happening.

There’s homeless sleeping on the sidewalk using drugs in the open, rampant and brazen home invasions in broad daylight, I could really sit here all day and list things.

They’re free to express this, but don’t double back when a loon comes crashing your Sunday dinner with a knife in his hand.

No chance I’m putting my freedom on the line for these clowns. Forget the fact that if I miss my shot and shoot someone else by mistake I’m locked up for the foreseeable future.

Evil prospers when good men do nothing. I know I would definitely protect my family if a guy with a knife starts charging us. I'm not sure why some of you guys even carry if your reaction is to run away from the threat. If you miss at that range you probably aren't very good at shooting, and under CA law in a justified shoot the bystander would be killed by the attacker not the defender.

Thank God we have capable CCW holders like the guy that saved lives and didn't abandon his family like some in this thread would do.

I think the timing of this really helps the CCW holder. The public are tired of the rampant crime that was allowed to run wild for years in LA county. I think he walks and keeps his permit too. If this was a few years ago, and under the disgraced George Gascon, things probably would end up very differently.
