If you roll back to the 90’s the older GenX are in their mid-20’s maybe 30. If I had to pick a generation that had control for the longest time it would be the Silent Generation. I would challenge defining it by date alone. I know why too many 1947-1949 and they defiantly don’t act like Boomers, but by the time you get to the early 50 their siblings are such Boomers. I would put Trump as a Silent based on how he acts and Bush as a Boomer. Bill had aspects of both.

How about if you're going in someone's car? Like your neighbor giving you a ride to fetch your car from the repair shop? I think the same logic should apply there.

And once it applies to "someone's car", it should also logically apply to Uber/Lyft/Waymo. And that also means that if you are aware that they prohibit guns in their cars, you should not carry one (concealed, or locked in a case as cargo).

So this isn’t a fair comparison but on the topic of corporate policy: in 2009 I bought $154 in groceries from a Safeway in San Francisco. They had signage posted (because of the scarcity of the resource) that you could only park in the parking lot for 2.5 hours conditional to having made a Safeway purchase. So we threw the groceries in the truck and went to a nearby bar for a couple hours with no having to pay for parking then went to go home.

I got a citation from Safeway as a corporation. They used insanely complex language to articulate they can’t actually do anything criminally but they had my plate number and should I fail to pay the fine they would civilly sue me aaaaaaand i’d be banned from doing business with Safeway or parking at their stores for life.

I went home and bbq’d tri tip and burned that citation and have been to Safeway 300 times since then and I’ve never been obstructed by any corporate overlords.

Or are WayMo/Lyft/Uber public-facing private spaces (like stores and restaurants) as the US Supreme Court just addressed in Wolford. In that case it would be ok to carry (despite any signage/policy) but leave if requested or face trespass charges.
