The link you posted also points you to "The Automated Firearms System Request for Firearm Records (BOF 053) application can be located at https://oag.ca.gov/firearms/forms." which is the formal way to discover what CA has in AFS associated with you. AFS is known to be incomplete and sometimes inaccurate, and such requests are very low priority for CADOJ; I think Quiet reports something like 8 to 60 weeks for response.

Why am I not surprised...

And what a crock ... BOF 053 requires the submission of a notarized application ($15)

I did an AFS request a couple years ago.
It took around 9 months.
AFS request will show you every gun you ever obtained through a DROS which was required to be registered at the time of the DROS or anything that you registered via any of the AW registration windows or anything that you self-made and registered.
So that means handguns from about 100 years back, registered assault weapons and post 2013 long guns.
AFS only tracks AQUISITIONS.
AFS does not remove anything that you sold from the records so you will find everything you bought through the DROS system.
They don't know what you actually HAVE based on AFS.
They would have to further filter out things they know that someone else now possesses due to a later dates DROS than your initial acquisition.
Maybe they can do that for themselves, but it won't be done for your AFS request response.
