Choosing which Holosun for P-07

The choices are a little overwhelming at first glance. I plan on having my CZ P-07 slide milled so I need to figure this out. On a couple of range guns I have the 507 Comp which I like but it seems big for a CCW. I like the idea of different reticles to experiment with. Also who does slide milling with a reasonable turnaround time? Thanks, Bob

I went with United Firearms for a 407k/507k and porting on a P07 back in March, and think they did a pretty great job. I think it took about 6 weeks in total at the time.

I would ship it to Wager and get the K footprint, wager is super fast and the K footprint lets you do the EPS, EPS carry, 407k, Vortex defender ccw, and other rmsc footprint optics. I have a full size EPS on my shield plus, I think it's great some people get wierd about their optics being too big but it's literally a few millimeters wider than the carry but noticeably more real estate. I don't like any other reticles besides a dot because you want to be target focused, not looking at your reticle. 3 moa is a good size.

Don’t own a CZ yet. But since we are talking about optics, optic cuts with direct mount, and then holosun.

Do you prefer open emitter or closed emitter? Does it matter to you?

What are your thoughts on 509t since it’s titanium, enclosed, more for duty; good enough for drops and tumbles, easy to clean, good enough for belly humidity/groin steam/hairs. The downside of the footprint is it’s one and done proprietary; the aimpoint acro p2 and MPs Steiner don’t fit it. But if you think it’s too big then the smaller enclosed version is eps or eps carry.

For open emitter; what are your thoughts on holosun 508t? Titanium housing but open emitter with rmr footprint. You can always mount other rmr optics.

Are we only limited to holosun? How about a trijicon RCR (small box tank) or SRO (since you are familiar with large window with the 507 comp, however not preferred if thinking about tumbles and drops)?

I had my optic cut from Jagerwerks (not Wager) for Glock 34 with aimpoint acro p2 but it took about 2 months along with black nitride coating (instead of cerakote) for the slide. Their downside is wait time and lead time. This was for a home defense pistol though; not ccw.

Ive heard good things about lead time and return time for Wager.

I just sent the slide to Wager and I'm having the 509T cut. This is what I'm looking at on Amazon

HOLOSUN HE509T X2 Reflex Pistol Sight - Shake-Awake Parallax-Free Enclosed Sight with MRS - RMR Adapter Included - Red/Green

It is probably larger than some for carry and it might be just right for my old eyes.

You can find a used one in the classifieds for less than paying that full price. Or you can find a different website if you want brand new; find one that has the coupon code if you email the vendor for a discount, even nicer if they don’t charge tax from out of state. Amazon is charging full price right now.

I think you made a good compromise. You don’t want as a big as a 507 comp, but the window is good especially for older eyes. SRO window is slightly smaller than comp but good for old eyes. 509t window is lower but compensates by being wider, Steiner MPs glass is clearer and wider than 509t but bulky like an acro body but acro p2 window is narrower but taller (can be good for the initial draw). Trijicon rcr window is definitely smaller.

Before you purchase on Amazon I have one for sale great condition. I used it on my staccato c2 for CCW but parted ways with it. Send me an offer and I’ll send it out to you.
