Confused about Shadow Systems CR920XP

very curious to see how Viramontes pans out next year, it's specifically about AR15s but by further defining what kind of weapons and magazines we can have it may throw all this out along with the roster. I won't get my hopes up but we will see. At the very least we will be burning fin grips in a ceremonial bonfire.

I asked two AI's yesterday and both basically said it all comes down to how the decision is written. SCOTUS could do us a solid and cover pistols as well as rifles in the ideal scenario.

In the mean time Radian has a Ramjet coming for the CR920 which would possibly replace the comp on the CR920XP and make it CA legal.

I moved from Arizona to California a while ago. I brought and registered my CR920XP here. Two weeks later, I had the confirmation letter in my mailbox. So far, so good.
Today I tried selling it to one of my co-workers. We met at a Turner's in the LA area to do a PPT. The moment they took my gun out of its case, they told me they wouldn't be able to process the PPT because it was an assault weapon. They asked me to take it back to my car because they didn't want it inside the store.
I'm beyond confused. I've seen these guns being sold on CAguns. And if it counts as an assault weapon, why was I able to register it in California? If it is an assault weapon, isn't it illegal to possess it?
I spoke to a few people about this. If you owned it preban then you are grandfathered in. But you can't sell it anymore. It's yours

Thank you! Well, I own it for about a year now. I guess that's not long enough.

it definitely depends but it would make a lot of sense for the courts opinion to finally be specific about what can be restricted. It would be quite bizarre to be narrow and as a result you can have AR15s with all features to your hearts content but still not a pistol. Also the way that the barrels are restricted is under the "other assault weapons" portion of the penal code. So there's a good chance that's included by accident just because the case is about "assault weapons"

Those two people are wrong and there is NOTHING in AW laws that let you grandfathered AW's
Those people should not be giving legal advice nor should you.
Even if you owned it preban (year 2000-when shadow systems wasn't a company) it still would of been needed to be registered as an AW

The info you gave was 100% wrong and if someone followed it they could be sitting in jail with a felony. If you don't know what is legal you should not respond with:
"I talked to a few people" and now "my local gunstore told me that"
Please out the store that is so clueless on CA AW laws.

Curious.. is the cr920xp comp different than the comp on the DR920p elite? The dr920 p is still on the roster

The DR920P uses a crosspin like the Radian Ramjet. The other models use a lugged barrel making them AW's

No one was rude to you....
If i had responded with "I know what im saying and blah blah" sure you could tell me not to respond. However I clearly said "I spoke to a few people that told me...." you could have just corrected me like @touchmytest did and leave it at that. But you had to throw ur opinion about how wrong I was. Relax. I admitted I was potentially incorrect and ur still coming.

Not what you said.

You never said those people told you that..... just that you spoke to a few people about this.
I did correct you by saying those people are wrong and them and you should not be giving legal advice.

I'm allowed to say you are not just wrong but 100% wrong. Its factually correct.

Even now you are saying you are "potentially incorrect"....

Problem with the internet is sometimes your post is the first one someone can read and think its correct.
But I am rude and keep coming at you???

Be wrong all you want but people can point it out.
