Again, no judgment at all, but I personally don’t want the attention.

I don’t think you’re getting that type of attention tbh. And that’s fine it’s your preference but we can be honest about the reality. Millions of guys are wearing gun related hobby apparel just like everyone is with other hobbies and interests and they’re not being followed home and robbed.

If I wear my Porsche 911 turbo t shirt are they going to follow me home to steal my Porsche? I’m sorry that’s just fantasy

You’re way more likely to be targeted or high end clothing, watches, jewelry and vehicles. So I would be way more concerned with those factors than a t shirt.

Well.. on that note. Because I live in a sketch city. (But nicer street). We all have flood light cameras in front of the houses in our court. No one can enter or leave our area without 5-7 cameras on em. And yes I have a camera in the rear and internal as well.

Fully recognize the tiny, tiny chance of a follow home robbery, that’s just one example that’s probably much more relevant to city center living. In my case it’s just a matter of personal preference.

Example: I’ve ridden and raced dirt bikes for many decades. A lot of people that I’ve worked with for years, were surprised to find out. I don’t ride for attention, I ride because I love to ride. I don’t hide it, but if it’s not relevant to the job or the conversation I usually don’t mention it.

That’s just how I’m wired, others are different and I think that’s totally cool!

Not so much anymore but when I was 18 and didn’t care about dressing nice in the military I had a bunch of grunt style or edgy or gun/2A type of shirts and other moto military whatever.

Now that I’m an old boomer I have to dress up more often and it’s not a lot of graphic t shirts these days.

I noticed with the online crowd some people are extremely nervous about supporting the hobby publicly or wearing gun apparel or clothing. California is definitely a bit different, because in other states I lived in definitely nobody will care or judge you badly.

I used to live in the Bay Area and work at Twitter HQ so I get ‘being around the hostile to gun culture left wing type of people’.

Stickers on your car or truck are one thing because I could see the argument that criminals might be more likely to break in thinking you’ll have a goodie inside.

But what’s the fear factor about wearing a HK hat or t shirt etc? That isn’t making sense to me. If the idea is that a criminal will target you because you have a Walther polo or a CAguns t-shirt, that sounds so far fetched from a statistical standpoint it’s almost purely fantasy.

To test this theory today I wore this oversized polo 14 hours today doing investigations in the field.

The bigger sin was carrying a HK at the same time.

I had a worn-out Glock T-shirt that I bought from a thrift shop. Eventually, I had to toss it after constant wash cycles wore it out.

My friend was murdered for his gold chain. I don’t wear mine anymore or my nicer things in the US. I’ve also had a family friend robbed at gun point in their house along with neighbors. Last time was in Covid which is what prompted getting back into firearms, building the site, and training people.

As a shirt it’s not so concerning outside, I think of it as a deterrent but that’s me. I totally get that it can attract, people are like that. I like to have both shirts and will print both so IYKYK as a way to build out our community so we can keep reinvesting and educating people.

I don't own any shirts or hats with gun company logos, but would no have a problem wearing one. I bet most people in the SF Bay Area would not notice a company logo branded item like HK, Sig, SA, Baer, etc (maybe not Glock)

It's the "Don't Tread on Me" or other "Wordy" clothing that could garner a reaction. Some would welcome the reaction, others would rather not engage. Trying to educate someone standing in line at Safeway, is only going to get you on Youtube. IMHO

Pay attention to cars following you. Get homeowners or renters insurance and a camera system.

If you’re being followed don’t drive home. These guys are not that sophisticated

There’s places where I’d like to open carry a 10mm in a chest rig, but CA doesn’t think that’s my right. I disagree with them, but they have a lot more DAs, courtrooms and judges than I do..

And I really appreciate open dialogue! I can’t learn much from someone who completely agrees with me..

If you’re being followed don’t drive home. These guys are not that sophisticated

having a safe is amazing too, although some apartment livers might not have that option really. i recommend safes tho for valuables

It's not just guns. Took my Jeep Trackhawk to a new service dealer for an oil change. A few days later 3 guys tried to steal it from my driveway. I live in a very nice area on a cul-de-sac. Broke my rear window, released the transmission lock and pushed it into the street.
Luckily they could not get it fully started and I shined my flashlight out the window and yelled some profanity at them. Opening the door set off the alarm and they bolted. Cops came and took a report but nothing will come of it. New rear window and new keys programmed and made space in the garage to park it. It was all of 20 seconds from the time I heard the glass break to grabbing a light and the car was in the street.

The dealer had my home address on the service order and had my SUV and key for several hours doing an oil change. Service guys may have cloned the key while in for service. PSA do NOT use you home address on a dealer service order. In hindsight there is no reason they need my home address.

not to say it couldnt have been the dealership but if they had a key why would they break the window? lots of models have shift neutral overrides on the center console near the shifter or somewhere else. or you can crawl under a car and force it from park to neutral at the actual transmission, we had to do this a lot in towing.

I generally don't like shirts or t-shirts with any kind of logos, or brand names. I might have a few with tiny manufacture logos, but that's about it.
