The other reality already brought up is that the Bay Area, where i work and live is very liberal. I try and keep my political and non-liberal hobby (shooting) to myself. I talk about my other hobby, woodworking, at work. I do occasion mention hunting as it’s a way to gauge if there are other fellow shooters at companies that doesn’t freak folks out. I’ve been at my current job for over 7 years, do solid work, and folks respect and like me. I’d probably be ok but don’t see much of an upside. There is a fellow shooter at work and he and I chat. Over the decades, I’ve seen quite a few folks I work with at gun stores, ranges, and gun shows so I know many are quiet about this hobby. For a while I had considered moving and working in Texas (good friend of mine who I had worked with for over a decade had relocated there and said I would flourish there). If I had interviewed, I planned to ask folks if there were any good gun ranges near by. Odd thing to ask at an interview? For sure, but also though that might also click with folks and not worry I was some sort of sissy liberal Californian. I’ve got about two years till I retire so just trying to do good solid work and not rock the boat. I don’t mind having liberal friends and I have a lot of them. Very good people but we just don’t see eye to eye on many issues.

I went to dinner once and saw a man dressed almost exclusively in gun apparel. I called this the gunion look, every layer was gun related, down to a pair of Leupold prescription glasses.

I don't see any concern wearing a gun branded shirt or hat, but holy moly if you're covered entirely in gun branded clothing and accessories, big yikes my guy.

Looks like last year may have been the last course, I think you're right. I wonder if there weren't enough sign ups anymore, or if ASCO just said screw the public. Cops are civilians too.

I do feel the motorcycle industry is slowly dying in the US.

For many years one of my hobbies was buying and playing the Native American flute. Now, mostly because of my stroke, I rarely play. But I still have my collection of mostly concert quality flutes.

I figured you for a young pup, but that polo shirt just screams "old boomer." More accurately, it screams "old boomer" and, "You kids get off of my lawn!"

To answer your question, I typically don't wear gun apparel. I prefer not to tip my hand to anyone, although I would think an old white guy covered in gun labels would be a deterrent to ne'er-do-wells and virtually anyone else.

My apparel usually consists of cheap Costco shorts or denim jeans, depending on the weather. T-shirts cannot be too garish and they must be directly related to the things I do. A couple nights ago I was at an event where most were dressed in a casual but dignified manner. My Costco shorts, Rainbow sandals, and an uncharacteristically flamboyant Fasthouse t-shirt were definitely out of place, but as the co-host, no one asked me to leave. One guest asked me to turn around so they could see the shirt. Of course no one knows what Fasthouse is, so he thought it was some kind of Grateful Dead hippie thing. That's ok, I'm a fan of deliberate ambiguity.

On the back of the shirt, in large letters it said "NOT!" The image was a rifle scope reticle with a screeching cat in the crosshairs and a fine red cloud of mist. It was awesome.

I'm 33 haha. Never wore Fasthouse but seen plenty at the MX tracks. I was sponsored by AXO then a few others for that type of gear

Don't rep Savior gear though, they don't do for a regular joe customer.

They owe me a table stand target stand gift, and other verbally promised gifts from tent events. I have purchased over 20 Savior cases, Louis (their PR/Events rep knows and offered the gifts), later for them to backtrack saying Louis no longer works at Savior.

Yea. I bought 20+ new Savior cases in boxes from a Amazon pallet truck for about $20 per. Resold it through various 2nd hand and calguns for like $40-60. I think if I had waited, I could have gotten like $60-80 at the height of covid. Yea, it was a loss.

I might have a couple of hats, and a 5.11 shirt I got off the clearance rack. Next closest thing would be shirts from YouTube channel; they’re so discrete, people keep asking me if I’m into vintage washing machines.

I do collect all the stickers though. I’ve been turning them into magnets after buying a couple of sheets of backing off Amazon, and slapping them on the garage fridge.
